Democrats Want To Subvert The Will Of The Voters

In impeaching Trump and wanting to bar him from ever holding office again, Democrats want to subvert the will of the voters.
Nooo....they want to keep a corrupt inept as*hole from ever holding office again. That's it.

Democracy is what this country is all about. Americans vote and Americans vote for who we want our leaders to be, up to and including the president of the United States. Before voting, Americans learn and study the candidates and the nominees running in order to decide who they want to vote for, even if the candidates are less than perfect. In impeaching Trump and wanting to bar him from ever holding office again, Democrats want to subvert the will of the voters. Why are democrats so scared about Trump actually having the possibility of being president again? I thought the 2020 was the end all referendum on Trump being president and Biden won with the most votes garnered by a nominee in the history of the country and that the Republican party was dead forever? Don't democrats actually believe that? Are democrats so scared in American's ability to decide who they want to vote for? Why is it THEIR business to decide who will or will not be president instead of the American voter's business? Where has our democracy gone if Democrats feel they can dictate who cannot be president, against the will of what the voters would have decided (assuming that Trump could actually win again)? Is this Russia or communism where one party decides to squash any competition they deem to be a threat to their survival? Is that what we have here, a democratic election like Russia has, where one party rules and any competition is eliminated by them?
Uh, no.

Voters decided to dump Trump and guess what despite all his crying, bawling, whining and inciting insurrection he will be gone very soon.

Democracy is not what this country is all about. It was literally fought for a very long time before it became some kind of reality. We have plenty of undemocratic systems in place like the senate and the electoral college. Even the limitations on the number of representatives in the house is undemocratic.

I'm still waiting for the answer to this:

Besides, why are you bitching when the events of Jan 6 were the biggest attempt to overturn the will of voters in living memory?

If someone wrecks your car, do you then, afterwards, hand him the keys again?

Trump incited insurrection against the United States, which is to say, he tried to wreck liberal democracy. He is, therefore, disqualified from holding any office of a public trust.

"Public Trust",

Get it?

Trump cannot be trusted, and it wouldn't matter if 90% of the population wanted him, he is unfit,

End of argument.

So, you're saying the hell with what the voters would want? Is this Russia? By the way, Democrats spent four solid years screaming about the integrity of the 2016 election and you want to bitch about two months?

If it were that simple, you'd have a point.

But Trump has violated his oath of office.

Therefore, he is disqualified from holding an office of public trust.

It wouldnt matter of 90% of the population wanted him, he can't be trusted.

The law allows us to prevent Trump from serving again. So we'll do it. He brought it on himself. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time, Donald. Other republicans can espouse the same bigoted, anti-immigrant rhetoric and run. They can insult Latinos, brag about sexual assault, spread false info on black on white crime, lie about Syrian refugees, etc., and if they lose elections, pressure state officials to find votes necessary to change results, incite supporters to riot, and, yes, you can vote for them. Just not for Trump. Don't like it, change the laws.

Subverting the will of the people is storming and vandalizing the Congress of the United States and threatening the lives of elected American congressmen, with the intent of overturning a legitimate election.

Yep, all true. So why would demorats favor preventing Trump from losing again if he somehow managed to win the republicant POTUS primary in 2024?

Because he is a criminal.

Democracy is what this country is all about.

Are you sure?

The tyranny of a prince in an oligarchy is not so dangerous to the public welfare as the apathy of a citizen in a democracy.”

–Montesquieu, Spirit of the laws, 1748.

Yes, and that is why it was so important that that the American people got out in such large numbers and voted Donald Trump out of office.

Because he is a criminal.

Perhaps, but why not use the criminal justice system to prove those criminal allegations once he is no longer in office? We seem to have experienced some fairly serious rioting, looting and arson over the use of ‘internal investigations’ and public employment termination as a (more convenient?) substitute (“just us” system?) for the alleged criminal actions of other public employees (like police officers).

A representative form of govt, where representatives are selected by the people so qualified, is a democracy. A Republican form of govt is a democracy. The US is a democracy. There is no pure democracy, though several cantons (province) of Switzerland operate as a pure direct/pure democracy, but not the entire country.

Democrats Want To Subvert The Will Of The Voters

The GOP or what is left of it has already plowed that row.

You don't give a damn about democracy or the will of the people. If you did, you wouldn't reject the will of the people and try to substitute your own. You wouldn't pretend to cherish the American way while simultaneously worshipping a white supremacist messiah who just tried to tear it all down. So take your artificial patriotism and go cry at the kid's table. The people have spoken.
