AP and ABC have both declared Jim Webb the winner in Virginia, and Allen is scheduled to give his concession speech tomorrow.

The sweep has happened.

Can't be! Navy Pride just told us all to "stay tuned" that there were 125K hidden votes that were going to all be for Allen!

He is stalling for time so he can remember all the Gore supporters' one liners from 2000. LOL.

Finally a return to  checks and balances!!!! oh noeesss!!

boooyah!!!!!!!!!!

Now it's a matter of waiting on the part of both sides to see if the shift of power will do anything meaningful for the current dilemmas.

Perhaps now, we'll pull out of there, and this will all be over. Well, no, it won't be over. We'll still have a massive debt, we'll have fewer friends and new enemies to worry about, but at least we won't have to ask ourselves "How much more downhill must it go?". I'm not a big fan of any kind of politician, but I do think a change in the way things are done is desperately needed at this point. It certainly would be nice to get some of those rights back...

Let me get this straight...

Republicans held majority in the House and Senate and there wasn't checks and balances.

Now that the Democrats have taken majority of both House and Senate all of a sudden we checks and balances?

Seems to me like it will be more of the same...politicians not getting anything done for the country.

It's a great day for America. Maybe finally we can get a decent minimum wage, a decent system in Iraq (and anything's decent compared to underfunded, undermanned troops stationed without a clear goal, waiting to be killed), and a decent democracy. Single party rule is never a good idea.

And even if the Dems take the White House and keep Congress in 08, the Supreme Court will still be right leaning.

Soon to become the The Peoples Republic of America once Pelosi and Reid get to work.

Do you know anyone working for minimum wage that isn't 16 or younger? From 16 up I wouldn't except anything less than $7.50.

Ok what's the Democrats plan for Iraq? You don't know because they don't know, they have no plan other than cut and run.

It went to the Dems.. old news.

A recount is not an option, the vote was far enough apart.

Oh Okay, thanks for the clarification.

CNN.com has some good overall coverage on the election if there's something you're not sure about.

I guess you'll be moving out of the country then? Have fun in Canada.

How about we let them actually take office first and then see if decisions are made?

Well, I figured since you're already on the internet and you need to know something about the election, CNN is the place to go. :2razz:
