Texas House Speaker signs civil arrest warrants to return absent Democrats to chamber

House Speaker Dade Phelan on Tuesday signed 52 civil arrest warrants for Democrats who left the state in July and continue to deny the body a quorum.

Republicans have no qualms about locking up their political opponents. My suggestion is for democrats to take notice and remember this when the 1-6 commission issues subpoenas and the republicans refuse to honor them.

The Texas issue doesn't involve subpoenas.
