Democrats oppose the president's plan to add troops to Iraq

True, but I think he could have been frank about the situation without apologizing and taking the blame. There's a reason why president's rarely admit they are wrong.

Pride? Arrogance? Insecurity?

So what? My points are valid regardless of why you were talking to or why.

The only people that think he doesnt have a grasp are the liberals and theur useful idiot followers -- and as you say yourself, this only created the ILLUSUION that he has a grasp...

So, it doesnt change anything substantial. Glad we agree.

So, it doesnt create a solution. Thanks for agreeing with me, again.

As I said, and as your post supports, it just gives the Democrats something they can use to gian political points -- and that's the ONLY reason they wanted it.

Fact of the matter is, there's nothing that Bush can do that will make liberals/Democrats happy -- he could get Cheney to resign, appoint Hillary VP and then resign himself, and the liberals/Democrats would -still- be unhappy with him.

I believe "idiot" is the operative word here.

It shoud be noted that the US was attacked and under threat of attacks from terrorists born and bred in the Middle East well before we invaded Iraq.

One has to wonder where these terrorists would be if they werent fighting us there.
What does the Bush WAr have to do with 9/11.
answer: nothing

How can you ask an American to go to Iraq and and maybe be the last person to die for nothing?

What did the Invasion of France have to do with Pearl Harbor?

He wouldn't be the only one.

What did the Invasion of France have to do with Pearl Harbor?

There was actually a connection between the two. There is absolutely no connection between 911 and Iraq. Are you really that delusional or what?

There's an old saying. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." I don't think it really matters anymore what Bush thinks is the best course for Iraq. The majority of mainstream Americans give him minimal, if any at all, credibility.

Most Americans these days, when they see the President address the nation, automatically assume he is lying, spinning, or just flat wrong.

Even if the President found the golden egg or suddenly realized the solution to all of the world's problems, hardly anyone would take his words to heart. No one would listen. (Well, except for a handful. One is born every minute I am told.)

Even his own party who traditionally rubber-stamped his agenda and blindly supported him without question, are trying to distance theirselves from his association. Even some of the hardest rightwing media pundits are starting to rub their chin and go hmmmmm, in the face of all the undeniable shortcomings of their glorious Fuher.

But now, even after a resounding message sent to Bush last November, Mr. Bush could care less what the advisors say. He doesn't care what the people want. He could care less what the polls say. He's going to further drag us all down into the pit anyways. Only now, some of the sheeple who sucked up to Mr. Bush and his ilk are slowing losing the scales over their eyes. Others knew all along. But either way, most of America is done with President Bush. The best thing he could do now is lay low and try to finish his term with any salvagable dignity he can muster. He's done.
