Democrats Ducking Vote on Rejecting Anti-Semitism.

Democratic leaders are remaining quiet about a new congressional measure that rejects anti-Semitism and chides a new class of Democratic congressional members for the open embrace of notorious anti-Semites and anti-Israel causes, according to the leading Republican author of that new measure.

Rep. Lee Zeldin (R., N.Y.), one of just two Jewish Republicans in Congress, has introduced a new congressional resolution in the House that categorically rejects anti-Semitism in all its forms and calls out some newly elected Democratic members who have ridden a popular wave into Congress on the backs of anti-Semitic leaders and causes, Zeldin told the Washington Free Beacon in a wide-ranging interview.

While a similar House resolution condemning white supremacy sailed to a nearly unanimous vote several weeks ago, Zeldin’s amendment, focused directly on anti-Semitism, has put Democratic leaders in a precarious position as they are forced to reject the views of popular new freshman colleagues.

Link.

Democrats are being co-opted by the Muslims and are taking on all the toxic baggage that implies. Ordinary rank and file Republicans will be afraid to take advantage of this, but Trump won't be.

So just to make sure I'm following your chronically retarded logic, because the Democrats aren't supporting a resolution to use legal force against Americans who exercise their first amendment right by boycotting Israel, that makes them anti-semites, which makes them islamists... The vast, vast majority of Jews are not Israeli, so linking Israeli politics with the entirety of the Jewish people is completely nonsense. Americans have a right to express any opinion they choose or boycott whoever they choose.

If the government took action against these people, they'd have to take action against you for being in a national socialist club and boycotting various liberal companies. That's not how America works. The government is not a weapon for brown-shirts to use to attack other free Americans.

Uh, no.

This is the resolution. After a preamble listing numerous anti-Semitic and anti-Israel statements, it concludes:

Resolved, That it is the sense of the House of Representatives that the House of Representatives rejects anti-Israel and anti-Semitic hatred in the United States and around the world.

No one's First Amendment rights are threatened here.

Do YOU object to this resolution? If so, why?

Did you see all the anti-Semitic statements listed in the resolution?

Yeah, your comments about Muslims are just about the same.

I object to it the same reason the Democrats most likely did. Judaism and Israel are not the same thing, and I don't think America should be sucking Israel's dick. They're just another country among many, and like all countries, they're periodically deserving of criticism. Fundamentally rejecting all criticism of Israeli politics is completely nonsensical and wouldn't even be a topic of Republicans didn't have a religious reason to support them. If the GOP really cares about clearing out anti-semites, they need to start with their own party. More Jewish Americans lean Democratic so pretending the party is fundamentally anti-semitic is totally ridiculous.

Yep, seems like everyone is calling you out for your dishonest bull**** these days, even me.

I object. If they had left it to anti-semitism, I would have been fine with it, but people can be critical of Israel, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Also, the part about embargoes was kinda hilariously bad in light of current events...

I don’t agree with you often, but this was very well said!

There were plenty of statements listed which were straight-up anti-Semitic, not anti-Israel.

But even concerning the anti-Israel statements -- Israel is an ally.

By saying the US shouldn't be "sucking Israel's dick," are you saying Israel shouldn't be an ally? If so, why?

Yep, seems like everyone is calling you out for your dishonest bull**** these days, even me.

Oh? What was "dishonest"? Be specific.

I think being an ally with Israel is fine, we're allies with a lot of people, but America has an extra special relationship with Israel, and all criticism of Israel and its political policies is immediately greeted with cries of anti-semitism. I reject this nonsense just the same as I would a resolution trying to link all islam with Iran and all christianity with Italy.

All countries are periodically deserving of criticism. Passing a circle-jerk resolution rejecting ALL criticism of Israel is ridiculous and not the purpose of government.

But it didn't say "critical of Israel." It condemned hatred of Israel, an ally of the United States.

It specifically listed anti-Israel hatred which was, in fact, steeped in straight up Jew-hatred, so that's what it's referring to.

Also, the part about embargoes was kinda hilariously bad in light of current events...

What "embargoes"? I don't see it in the resolution.

It didn't do that. You say you're calling out my "dishonest bull****," which you can't seem to list, and then you lie about what the resolution says.

It sought to condemn anti-Israeli HATRED and listed numerous examples of anti-Israeli hatred which was based specifically on Jew-hatred.

And, contra to your previous post, it listed examples of right-wing Jew-hating which were to be condemned as well.

You didn't even bother to read it. You're just making up what you wanted it to say and pretending that it actually says it, because in your all-rage-all-the-time style, you don't even care.

While, again, claiming to be calling out MY "dishonest bull****."

Reflection, logic, measured discourse - weak areas in Trumpworld. But in name calling you can't beat them.

Ok, all Dem are anti-Semitic because of this? So that means all Republicans are racists, for a LONG list reasons. Starting with Steve King and Miller, there's good Nazis and White Supremacists, the Southern Strategy and on and on.

I knew it all along.

No, I think Democrats just don't want to be locked in to a position by the passage of a law or resolution. No one should, it sets a dangerous precedent when you start imposing positions on people by resolution or by law.

If you combine something I don't support with something I support why would I support that resolution? That makes no sense. Separate the condemning of ALL criticism of Israel from anti-semitism then it might be a different story. Also, yes, this was a circle-jerk resolution.

And if you could stop drooling and look back at post #7 again you'll see I was talking to LowDown with the dishonest comment. Reading is important.

And, again, you're simply lying about the resolution, because it did NOT condemn "ALL criticism of Israel," but specifically HATRED of Israel, of which it gave numerous examples, all steeped in Jew-hating.

You're plowing along pretending it says something it doesn't, and you don't even care that it doesn't.

Fair enough; my mistake. When I hit "reply with quote," there was nothing about Lowdown in your post, but your edit with the "dishonesty" comment was quoted, so it looked like you were saying it to me.

Now, why don't YOU go back and actually READ the resolution, because yes, reading is important. You should try it. You should have tried it before your first post in this thread, when you obviously thought it was referring to a different resolution, and you could have known better if you had bothered to read.
