Democrats lead Trump by wide margins in Minnesota

10/21/19
A week after President Trump held a big rally in Minneapolis, a new poll shows his campaign has a long way to go before it puts Minnesota in play in next year’s general election. The survey, conducted by Mason-Dixon on behalf of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, shows each of four tested Democratic candidates leading Trump by wide margins. The poll shows former Vice President Joe Biden leading Trump by a 50 percent to 38 percent margin. Trump trails Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) 51 percent to 40 percent, and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) 49 percent to 40 percent. Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) would win her home state among respondents by the widest margin — she takes 55 percent of the vote against Trump’s 38 percent. All four of the Democrats hold leads over Trump among male respondents and among independents. They all take more than 50 percent of the vote among women surveyed. And they lead Trump by margins of 44 percentage points to 51 percentage points in Hennepin and Ramsey counties, the two most populous in the state.

Trump generates no traction in this Democrat state.

Wait til the Democrats come up with their looney nominee and see the polls change. And a looney it will be since that's all they got.

Lost in the shuffle of the 2016 election was the fact that Minnesota barely went blue. Seeing three out of four Democratic candidates polling at double-digit leads in this same upper-Midwestern state should ring alarm bells for the Republicans.
Yeah, I was worried about MN for 2020. But this poll is pretty re-assuring. Of course it's only one poll, and it's a long way to next November.

But I'll tell you this: I love the Upper Midwest. The poeple are generally sensible. Not too liberal, not too conservative. Rather, they're often moderate and sensible. If Goldilocks were real, she'd live in the Upper Midwest.

This - below - is the important take-away, IMO. If accurate, it would indicate Trump is toast in MN.

When pollsters oversample Democrats and under sample Republicans it gives them the nice results they're shooting for. However on election night it leads to liberals in tears crying how could we have lost.

Once Biden is elected the democratic nominee, the polls will be 50/50.

This is what happens historically.
