Biden/Bloomberg

Biden would likely commit to 1 term with Bloomberg being very active as a VP candidate pushing his favorite topic, the anti-gun agenda. Bidens a populist, Bloomberg is more of a radical leftist. I wouldnt be surprised to see them partner with a female candidate as a groomed VP candidate for Bloomberg in 2024.

Bloomberg is viewed upon as a quacktard by a lot of democrat voters.

Just sayin'....

The democrats need to take their show somewhere other than New York.

Bloomberg isn't as radical a leftist as DeBlasio, who will almost certainly make a run at some point.

You're being facetious right? Stale, establishment, status quo candidate Biden a populist? Self-described fiscal conservative billionaire Bloomberg a 'radical leftist'?

Serious or not, this OP is a complete joke.

How is Bloomberg going to sell the 70% tax bracket on the rich?

Nope...Im quite serious.

Bloomberg will push the anti-gun agenda...the crown jewel of the left. They will both push the race agenda and the financial equality angle. Please...do you think leftists care how much money their candidates have as long as they are saying the right thing? FFS...Bernie Sanders is the socialist champion of the oppressed left...and he has 3 houses.

Bloomberg is rich enough to not care...its all about the politics (besides...they ALL know that 70% tax bracket thing will never fly).

Are those the same voters that are currently feting AOC?

Good point.

And that's my point, in a round about way, as well.

Sure, just like we got some seriously mentally flawed whacko rightwingtards on the GOP side, we also have our share of tree-huggin', tofu eatin', touchy feely leftwingtards on the democrat side.

Those people almost piss me off almost as much as the Trumptards too. (But, they are easier to ignore than some loudmouth neo-cons.)

The point I'm making is, right now, it's the rightwingtards in the spotlight making America look stupid. That's going to be the focus of the next election. Shutting those assholes up.

It can't be done by countering them with some equal or greater than extremists. The extremists are dicks. Doesn't matter what side they extreme on.

The dems need to stay center, center right, center left and leave the whacktardism to the GOP.

And thats why I say that even though it sounds ridiculous to some folk (absurd apparently!) we are likely to see a reverse of the GOP nomination process. So far...the people that have jumped in are unelectable IMO. Throw in a Booker...he damaged himself. Warren...She just doesnt have it. I think Hillary is just waiting to disrupt everything enough to step in. I dont think the Gavin Newsome show plays outside of California. I think at the end of the day, the party will settle for a more reliable old shoe...with an Obama endorsement.

I could be wrong. Maybe Mitt Romney changes parties again and runs as a democrat. Who knows.

Too old, too white and too male - possibly even too rich. Surely with a field of two dozen candidates the demorats can find more "diverse" candidates that can stay focused on bashing Trump, promising all manner of free stuff, banning bad stuff (guns, coal, oil, gasoline, plastic straws and eating meat) and blaming the tippy top richest folks for all ills in the world without resorting to calling voters derogatory names.

Clown/Nanny Statist Gun Grabber 2020.

Nah. Doesn't have a very good ring to it.

LOL, you might be serious, but you cannot expect to be taken seriously. Not with that OP.

You think Bloomberg is a radical leftist because he supports gun control? That's just dumb. 75% of the country supports the same gun control policies that Bloomberg supports. Even a majority of gun owners support increased gun control.

All you've done is reveal yourself to be a 2A radical.

But I must say, it's always funny to see/read the thoughts of right wingers as they muse about what "the left" thinks...and what "the left" wants...and what "the left" should do.:lamo

anti-gun is not the crown jewel of the left. Not even close. There are dems who aren't very much on gun control at all. Hell, even Bernie Sanders isn't that big on it because he's senator of a rural hunting state.

If anything, Universal healthcare for all is the crown jewel of the left.

OK...then by all means...offer your better alternative. This is whats called a 'discussion' forum.

Right...but Universal Healthcare is kind of a given where the left is concerned, isnt it? Everyone will talk about it. I think people are downplaying the importance of Gun Control...but thats OK...Im not on the left.

Well the media is hosting a town hall for Kamala Harris next week and Beto is sitting down with Oprah. That right there will be the medias two darlings. Anybody else wont matter. Media is extraordinarily powerful.

I think the response Beto got last week was a bit of an eye opener. I suspect many in the media will be all in on a woman candidate this year.

I don't know anyone on the left referring to the 'anti-gun agenda' as being a crown jewel of the left, particularly with many on the left being supporters of the 2nd amendment, even if they think there should be some kind of regulation with regards to the distribution and sale of firearms.

Moreover, Bloomberg, billions or not, is in his totality is about as centrist as you can get in terms of policy (which to be clear, is firmly right wing in any developed country that isn't the States), and Biden is certainly no populist, nor has he really signed onto any pillar policy that might be considered as much.

Lastly, Bernie Sanders has a six figure salary as a senator, and a wife that makes a good income; both are notoriously frugal. His houses also happen to be in locations that aren't particularly pricy. I'm not sure how this translates into hypocrisy since he never advocated against earning, spending or enjoying money, so much as he did rampant economic inequality and a system demonstrably skewed in the favour of the rich and powerful.

Biden stands a good shot.

Bloomberg has no shot. But he'll effect the campaign with his presence and probably earn himself a cabinet appointment with the eventual winner.

Right now, there are a lot of potentially strong candidates on the Democratic side. But it's useless to project until we've had a chance to see them on the campaign trail. Some people look good on paper, but don't project well in front of crowds and the cameras. Martin O'Malley was a good example of that in 2016. Looked like Tarzan on paper, projected like Jane on the campaign trail. Same thing with Jeb Bush.

I think you are downplaying the anti-gun agenda of the left. But thats just my opinion.

Bernie Sanders makes around 200k...as a senator. He also gets book royalties and speaking salaries that puts him over a million a year in annual income which makes him one of those 1%ers he is always on about when he is talking about the wealth inequality in the country. The three homes...thats just the manifestation of his excess.

WTF. So I offered a ticket of Biden Bloomberg which caused you to laugh your balls of and YOUR response is Biden is a legit candidate but the VP candidate has no shot.

Come on, man.....

Heres what Bloomberg brings to a ticket...he brings a presence...an identity...a cause. Most VP candidates are like cuff links. Bloomberg, in addition to being immediately recognizable has a media network and resources.

But seriously...thanks for at least dialoguing and not just going to snark.
