"I'm a Democratic Socialist". Sorry, just had to throw that in supporting the thread title. But my point is, in this time of the radicalization of the Republican Party, as extreme Plutocrats using extreme propaganda to create a cult of Americans to vote for Republicans has led to the crazed radicalization of the party, accelerated by a Hitleresque cult figure trump, the politics DEMAND that Democrats offer a home to 'big tent' America from progressives to 'sane Republicans'.
And I'm not seeing it. Biden is sort of 'in the middle', saying 'hey, progressives you can be ok voting for me, and hey Republicans, you can vote for me', but I don't really see a big effort especially to market to non-trump Republicans to be welcomed and encouraged to support Democrats instead. Especially by offering them 'conservative Democrats' in red areas.
Instead, it's sort of saying, 'you can pick, hold your nose and vote for trump, or vote for someone you don't like as a Democrat who isn't reaching out to you at all, or just don't vote', and I think a lot are voting for neither.
This seems negligent, not to 'reform' American politics in light of the radicalization of the Republican Party, instead trying to just 'preserve' the same two party system saying 'we hope Republicans become less crazy', instead of trying to shift American politics to let Democrats dominate and to really push the trumpistas into irrelevancy winning few races.
Reagan got it as a marketing person, reaching out to "Reagan Democrats", and despite being pretty terrible won a 49 state re-election. When's the last time you heard about "Biden Republicans"?
