By 2014, Obama announced that ISIS had beheaded journalist James Foley, and then went straight to the golf course – on Martha’s Vineyard, of course.


Obama has always loved hanging out with celebrities, and always enjoyed the luxuries that come with being the most powerful person in the world. (His presidential portrait features him wearing a $15,000 Rolex.)

Should we be surprised that Sotheby’s is selling “President Barack Obama Player Exclusive deadstock Nike Hyperdunks for $25,000” now? The nearly $12 million estate on Martha’s Vineyard? (Say, wasn’t climate change and rising sea levels going to make Martha’s Vineyard waterfront property a risky investment?) The property in Hawaii, where he’s exploiting a loophole to keep a seawall in place, in opposition to environmental guidelines?

Obama accumulated all this, while lecturing the world’s rich: “There’s only so much you can eat. There’s only so big a house you can have. There’s only so many nice trips you can take. I mean, it’s enough.”

Obama has always been this guy. The only thing that really changed is that now it’s safe for other Democrats to talk about it.

I'll let that slide because you obviously don't know me. Nothing I do is a dodge, because I never need to. Nothing on this website is worth the bother. Like I've already said, I don't need any citation! Most especially for things that anyone with a working browser can look up themselves.

You're just annoyed because you don't like being corrected on your misapprehensions regarding who was more out of touch - Obama or Romney. If you weren't born yesterday, you'd remember vividly just exactly how out of touch Willard was. He knew it, I knew it, and everyone knew it - except perhaps you. It was even a joke to him that he often couldn't help but reveal. The governor was born with a Platinum spoon in his mouth, and unlike Obama, never worried about making the bills, probably not a single day in his life. After leaving Bain Capitol, he joked about the fact that he was "also unemployed" !! At the time he was worth a paltry $200 MILLION!

I'm confident you can look up his many college speeches and find the ones where he advises students to borrow money from parents as the sure fire way to success in life. Hey - it worked for him, right?

I also recall when Romney's wife, during a speech to students at BYU, wanted to show the audience how she related to the difficulties of student life. She disclosed that she and Mitt had to cash out some stocks and bonds to make tuition one year. Can you imagine?

Man, life was tough for the Romneys.
 
Obama's legacy in the future liberal world will not be good.
They already don't like him because he never pulled us out of Afghanistan.
They don't like him because he was once against gay marriage.
They don't like him because he never proposed defunding police, never suggested teaching critical race theory in schools, never proposed playing the Black National Anthem at sporting events.
And as wokeness evolves, they will find more reasons to not like him.
And he is half white and was raised by white people.

What a stupid response. I'm old enough to see legacies change in time. Attitudes and political correctness change constantly, and as they change they alter the things around them. Obama will not be loved by liberals of the future. He was simply not enough of a socialist for future Democrats to idolize him. If they put a statue of him up today, it would get tore down in decades.

As one of those liberals whose thoughts you claim to know, I can tell you Obama was whatever as a POTUS. We're most trusted abroad, but his foreign policy wasn't all that different from Bush.

I am laughing at all the dumb shit you think we believe. I'm queer and I don't care it took Obama a couple years to get behind it. He's there now and that's what matters.

You are completely missing my point and reading way too much into this. Legacies change. That is a simple cultural fact that cannot be denied. You can disagree with my prediction of Obama's legacy if you want but to deny that legacies are written in stone is to deny history. Just because you have forgiven Obama for being against gay marriage doesn't mean that gay progressives in 50 years will agree with you.
There was a time when some people thought that Confederate generals would be revered forever.

I wouldn't want to make a point that time passes because everybody knows that. What everybody like you don't seem to realize is that time changes the way we look at things. Good luck if you want to argue that.

The press figure out why Abe Simpson wasn't invited to Barry's boojee birthday bash?One theory I heard is that Obama's legendary oversized ego wouldn't tolerate being upstaged by the President.
