It was the Democrats who sent combat troops into harmsway. And it was the Democrats who eventually stabbed the American soldiers in the back and abandoned supporting the war.

That's when I said when I turn 21 years of age and I register to vote I'm not going to register as a Democrat. I registered as a Republican because I never heard of a Republican ever back stabbing American soldier in the back and abandoning them when they are still on the battlefield.

The Demokrats have a bad habit of abandoning the troops when they need their support most. And look at what happened to the one Demokrat who opposed his party? They actively fought to get his ass removed... and succeeded! It was Republicans that helped get Joe Lieberman re-elected as an Independent.

Look at the treasonous, phony louse of a scum bag we have as Secretary of State. Craps all over the troops upon his return from Vietnam. He has been a thorn in the side of the military ever since. And then running for president, it's the I'm John Kerry and I served in Vietnam Show. Good thing those who served with him brought the truth to light about his "service".

Of course telling the truth about his betrayal, or telling the truth in other matters like Willie Horton become offensive to the Demokrats. Strange werld theyz lives in.

My ROTC instructor in college cited a case in upstate New York during the French and Indian Wars when both sides were going at it hammer and tongs, and had to take a break when a rainstorm blew in. This was in flintlock pre-cartridge days when you loaded your musket with powder, stuffed in a ball, then poured powder into the pan and looked for a target. When you pulled the trigger, a spark went into the pan where the powder burned down the little hole and after a while there was a "boom" and you could repeat the process. The invention of the cartridge during the days of Napoleon streamlined the process and made it possible to keep fighting in the rain and wind. Such is progress.

MCO P1020.34F of the Marine Corps Uniform Regulations chapter 3, section 3035.

females are authorized to carry plain black umbrellas ..in inclement weather... in their left hand... only in dress or service uniforms ( no carry allowed in utility uniforms. or while in formation)

while not specifically banned, male Marines are not authorized to carry umbrellas at all... which means they ain't allowed to carry them while in uniform.

note, i have no problem with the Marines holding the umbrellas for Obama

if it rains, male Marines are authorized to get out of the rain , circumstances permitting.... or get wet.... both are acceptable.


"getting wet"was the option I was most availed to... "getting wet" is what generally happened when it rained.

fly boys will stop training in really bad weather.... the infantry?.. we love bad weather to train in.... the more miserable it is, the better training we get.
hell, i've called Battalion humps just because it was going to rain.. nothing quite like a nice brisk walk in the rain with a 1000 Marines.. it's invigorating.. it builds character.

the longest unit hump I was ever involved with is 41 miles.... I wish I was there for the 150-miler, I bet that was a ballbuster.. ( it was a bit before my time.. I didn't enlist til '69)
