Wow, who'd a thunk?

At the end of the day, the choices are pretty clear. Either we come to some sort of deal with the dictatorship in Tehran to alleviate their fear of invasion or we wait until they develop it on its own. Sanctions haven’t stopped them. Invasion would be a bloodbath of epic proportions and therefore a nonstarter. Sooner or later we have to face reality.

Sanctions very much had stopped them - right up until the idiot Trump violated the multilateral agreement.

Agreed.

That would be nice for a change - but unlikely until we can get everyone to recognize and focus on the same reality.

Well, that was the deal vs sanctions, although I suppose the sanctions presumably made the deal look more appealing.

What happened in Ukraine really hammers home why the Iranians have been so determined to get nukes. They see us like Kiev sees Moscow, and their own actions haven’t exactly lessened the anger America feels towards the dictatorship in Tehran.

True. Hopefully the Israelis don’t do something stupid like try and pull another Osirak.

Hopefully. 🤞

I wonder if The New York Slimes will run another "Jew Tracker" for the vote on this Iran nuke deal like they did last time.

Trying to make the nuke deal cover non-nuclear sponsorship of war fighters, would be to overplay the US's hand. Remember the first deal only happened because China and Russia were parties to it. Without other nations, the US has very little leverage over the Iranians.

Preventing Iran from getting nukes is a big enough deal, there's no need for anything else. No, not even missiles. Iran can have missiles just like any other country.

So there are important details left to hash out. Welcome to Negotiating 101.
But, but they're all supposed to just "fall in line", right? Anyone who doesn't is a never-Bidener [/sarcasm]
