The defendant is a snob
Chorus: And a great snob, too.
- Gilbert and Sullivan's Trial by Jury

First it was John Kerry calling American troops child killers and rapists, as in the days of "Jenjis Khan." Then there was his wife Teresa saying that Mrs. Laura Bush staying at home raising two daughters "didn't have a real job." Then both John Edwards and John Kerry went on to publicly gay bait Vice President Cheney about his lesbian daughter. This was followed a few years later by Kerry saying that people who joined the US military were stupid and society's losers.

Now we have Barbara Boxer, Senator from Disneyland on The Bay, implying that a very accomplished, distinguished African American woman, Dr. Condoleeza Rice, isn't fit for her office because she hasn't given birth to children, a condemnation she wouldn't dare raise about the white Gloria Steinem, Donnna Shalala or Janet Reno. Dr. Rice had previously also been Provost of Stanford University in Sen. Boxer's home state.

This whole pattern reminds me an Edgar Allen Poe story I had to read in 8th grade, "The System of Dr. Tarr and Professor Feather." In this story, a visitor to an insane asylum finds the "staff" acting more and more bizarre, until he realizes that they are, in fact, the inmates who have tricked the real staff into being incarcerated in the real inmate's place. As my memory recalls the story, there was one woman, who describes the antics of an inmate as making sounds like a chicken or rooster - and then illustrates the behavior by climbing on a table and repeating it.

That is exactly how Sen. Boxer appeared as a few days ago, the "feminist champion" doing her best imitation of Archie Bunker's Evil Twin, ostensibly to denounce her Bush Administration target, but in the process revealing much more of Boxer's own mindset - and shortcomings - than anyone in the room would have imagined.

American Thinker Blog: Democrats and disdain

funny....why havent the clueless masses called Boxer a racist for her attack on a African American woman?

You know how you guys will attack, call them names or brand them racist when anyone says anything neg. about a black person........

but when a liberal such as Boxer does the same thing not a word from the liberal media...............

I still think....RICE in 08 is the best choice for the Republican party

I think that no one has called Boxer a racist, because race had nothing to do with this issue.

Ultimately, this is nothing more than Republican :spin:; trying to create a racial issue where there is none.

Here are the comments that Boxer made that everyone is concerned about:
During the Thursday hearing, Senator Boxer told Ms. Rice: “Who pays the price? I’m not going to pay a personal price. My kids are too old and my grandchild is too young. You’re not going to pay a particular price, as I understand it, with an immediate family. So who pays the price? The American military and their families. And I just want to bring us back to that fact.”

Nothing about race here.

Perhaps it might be more appropriate to discuss what Barbara Boxer actually did say. Do y'all think it was a shot at single women and feminsim?

come'on Capt....you know the game....it doesn't have to be about race for a liberal to brand anyone a racist when it comes to saying something...anything...neg about a black person......

remember how quick they were to brand the boys in the Duke case racists when it had nothing to do with race.....as we are now finding out the truth after all the lies told to us from the liberal media.......

Or how about when Lott said a couple nice things about Strom....nothing he said had anything to do with race yet the liberals called him a racist for saying something nice about a very old man that lived in another time and a different America.........

Duke case? I think the only branding of the 'boys' of the duke case were that they were complete and total *******s.
The only "game" here is your futile attempt to frame all these instances as "race card" playing. Couldn't be a further spin from the truth.
Since you brought up lott though, care to post his quote?

Here are the comments that Boxer made that everyone is concerned about:

It is not a complete cite of what she said especially how she interrupted Rice and wouldn't let her answer, it doesn't convey the condescending tone Boxer was using. Links to the video are in the other link discussing this. Boxer is an embarrassment.

True.

Absolutely.

And yet, in this instance, it is conservatives, innappropriately, calling someone racist, totally without evidence.

I know and I agree. Her condescending tone was disgusting and attacking...just not about race. It was totally uncalled for in my book. I, too, have a lot of respect for Rice.

Hey, Stinger. Beleive it or not, we seem to totally agree. What is the world coming to.

I would suggest that calling a Black Lady an "African American woman" is in itself racially profiling.

Condoleeza Rice was born in the USA as indeed were her parents, so why call her an AFRICAN American.

If one is born in Africa and subsequently emigrates to the US then, yes that person can be truthfully described as being African American.

But to someone who is a native of America, no, that racial terminology is incorrect.

And I feel certain that Cold Dirt would not wish that he be thought of as being a racist, or would he?
