The treasurer of the Orange County, Florida Democratic Party has been arrested on federal child sex crime charges. Matthew A. Inman, 39, from Orlando, was apprehended after allegedly distributing child sexual abuse material to an undercover officer, according to authorities. The Department of Justice (DOJ) states that he showed interest in boys as young as nine years old and could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

According to the DOJ’s criminal complaint, Inman had allegedly saved numerous videos depicting child sexual abuse on his phone between August and October 2024. He reportedly traveled to Las Vegas in October last year, where he engaged in online communications with an undercover officer impersonating the father of a 9-year-old, expressing desires to meet the child for sexual purposes. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) seized his electronic devices while executing a search warrant at his residence. Officials noted that Inman attempted to erase the incriminating material from his phone and hid in his attic during the raid.

In addition to his role with the Orange County Democratic Party, Inman is the president of the Orange County Rainbow Democrats, an LGBTQ advocacy group aligned with Democratic Party principles. His social media activity shows support for transgender and gender issues, and he has criticized Republican President Donald J. Trump.

The GOP have embraced sex offenders as part of their party. Trump is a convicted rapist and has multiple allegations of teen rape. He was a close friend of Jeff Epstein.

The guy is scum but he fits in with the church and the GOP who have no problems with sex abusers among their numbers.

Of course not. Does someone else's politics make it okay to leap on every opportunity to use child exploitation to attack Republicans, even when it's a Democrat offender?

Sounds like it was fine nonpartisan work by the FBI under Biden, and hopefully the guilty party is convicted. Would it be so hard to leave it at that?

The word is Democratic. Unusual to see it be a Democratic official. Did you make a thread about the ten previous cases it was a Republican official also?

The intent of the OP was clear. Nothing wrong with reminding him that a huge number of these cases are committed by conservatives/Republicans/pastors.

The hugely more prevalent crimes by Republicans, and Republicans' near total partisanship in how they treat the crimes, unlike Democrats, is a very important part of the topic to point out whenever Republicans cherry pick incidents to post about. Remember Matt Gaetz, protected for years by Republicans, nominated for Attorney General, Republicans trying to cover up his crimes, for just one recent example?

The most notorious sex criminal in modern times in public discussion was Epstein. Epstein's closest friend and associate and participant appears to be trump. They pick him as their leader, and I can't remember seeing one trump supporter ever say one word condemning him for any of that. So, ya, when they want to say 'obscure Democrat committed a crime'...
 
I don't even pay attention to their tit for tat crap with that stuff. I'm more concerned about what trump and his goons are doing. They have a convicted felon as their leader who is also convicted of sexual offenses to boot and they want to point fingers. I get sick of the stupidity they emit.

If the responders' intention is to reinforce the implied equivalency by adding Democratic whataboutism to Democratic sex crimes, I suppose.
"Look at that, Democrats responding to the crimes of their own in the same way as Republicans do!"



Do you think there's anyone in this thread or for that matter on this forum who isn't aware of that? It's brought up in pretty much every thread in which religion, children or LBGT folk are even tangentially mentioned. But sometimes, obviously, it's a Democratic and/or pro-LBGT offender: To my mind, immediately and zealously leaping for a whataboutism response in those cases doesn't score quite the political point that you guys seem to think it does, it just reinforces the implied equivalency.

And, quite simply, using children's sexual exploitation to try to score political points against Republicans when the offender is a Democrat is not very classy, even if it actually accomplished that.
 
Nobody is defending him because he is a democrat. Toss him to the wolves but he fits in as a minster, priest or a GOP , all of which the MAGAs defend as sexual predators.
