A school board member gave a graduation speech in which she told a mainly-immigrant class of high schoolers that they were entering a world filled with “racism, extreme versions of individualism and capitalism, [and] white supremacy,” and encouraged them to remember their “jihad” and reject the concepts of objectivity and neutrality.

Fairfax County school board member Abrar Omeish gave the keynote address at the commencement for Justice High School in Falls Church, Virginia on June 7.

Wow! Tell us some more how education in America isn't about indoctrination of our youth....

There an actual transcript?

I have to ask, because it's about one in ten thousand that the person's full sentiments actually line up with whatever cherry-picked bits are being thrown around.

transcript? LOL

it's the dailywire. It's Yellow journalism

I don't see the problem. When I graduated they told us to remember to declare jihad on the American patriots. They even put American flags in our chairs so we would inevitably fart on them during the ceremony.

I did find this video to the commencement address using the link in the OP

It's ****ing nuts that they are teaching our kids that capitalism is some sort of evil and that the U.S. is some kind of terrible place when people immigrate here from around the world for better lives.

This is exactly why if nothing is done about the pervasive leftist extremism in education then we're heading for way worse than what we already are.

you sound like a victim.

Was that what is being talked about in the OP or are you just distracting away from the actual issue, in a transparently dishonest post?

It's talking about the commencement speech at Justice High School in Fairfax County last week, you know, the actual topic of the OP. You could actually READ the details...

Let's see.

1) Source is bogus
2) one man's foolishness does not represent a party of more than 100 million, to suggest it does is ignorant, it is a fallacy to so suggest.
3) you make the inane jump from a bogus source to "indoctrination."

The bottom line here, this post is an indictment on the poster, not on anything else.

peace

Yup...and you posted something about someone saying "Allah" which is only God in Arabic, that even Arab Christians use.

No text, no context. No proof. The OP can't back up whatever the implications are. It can be argued that students are entering a world that includes “racism, extreme versions of individualism and capitalism, [and] white supremacy,” among other qualities of society. Encouraging students to to 'remember their “jihad” and reject the concepts of objectivity and neutrality' requires more explanation to be understood what is meant by those words by themselves, the context, than just being taken out of whatever the context is. But we don't have the full text. So we don't know.

WOW!!
Now please go back and read the first sentence and tell us how you think it is all the Dems. or dems at all
" A school board member gave a graduation speech"
it is One school board member some place that gives a speech to a High School class and all of a sudden it is THE DEMS
People who group everybody into a group like they do here ( from both the right or left ) aren't putting forth a true picture of either side
Have a nice day

The dropout rate at that school is 11%. 20% are chronically absent everyday. Maybe she should have doted more on why staying in school is important than whining about how evil white, capitalistic America has been to her.

Did you listen to her speech?

I did.

There was no whining.

When you’re more upset by a random school board member saying something arguably extreme to one graduating class than a former President saying extreme things for days and days to the whole world while in office, you need to reexamine your priorities.

Just curious, do Republicans run for school board spots? Do they vote for school boards? The report says the whole school board is Democratic.
Why do you guys allow that to happen?

Maybe Republicans should get involved with education instead of leaving it up to others and then complaining about the results.
