"...First it was an email warning Steve House, the Colorado GOP chairman, to hide his family members and “pray you make it to Cleveland.” Then there was the angry man who called his cellphone and told him to put a gun down his throat.

“He said, ‘I’ll call back in two minutes, and if you’re still there, I’ll come over and help you,’” House recalled....

In hotel hallways and across dinner tables, many party leaders attending this week’s meetings shared similar stories. One party chairman says a Trump supporter recently got in his face and promised “bloodshed” if Trump doesn't win the GOP presidential nomination. An Indiana delegate who criticized Trump received a note warning against “traditional burial” that ended with, “We are watching you.”...."

"...A Utah woman says she was threatened by Donald Trump supporters after a floor fight over the rules at the Republican National Convention.

"They said: 'You should die. They should pull the protection from the Utah delegation. You should all die,' " at-large delegate Kera Birkeland said Monday night..."

Now they're eating their own kind. The GOP sure ain't what it used to be.

Well, actually, none of those were Republicans, y'see - they weren't conservatives or liberals or anything like that. They were all actually liberal plants pretending to be Trump supporters, 'cause, you know, Real Red-Blooded Patriots would never do such things!

Unsupported allegations.

Aside from the anecdotal statements where is the actual evidence all of this occurred?

Hearsay.

Really good point. It seems that in recent years politics has become too much of a bloodsport for people to immediately doubt these stories, which should be the first reaction.

When there's more than one report of Trump supporters making violent threats coming from inside the same convention....there's probably something to it....

This just in....

Conor Friedersdorf
@conor64
CNN reports that a man in a donor suite had to be restrained from assaulting Ted Cruz after he entered it after his speech.

C'mon Glen....lol

Hillary has been bombarded with threats "Bernie-ites" for months now. This isn't a GOP issue alone.

Still crazy.....regardless.

Sounds like a lot of Trump supporters are leftists. That's the kind of **** they pull. Same with Cruz and his wife having to be escorted from the stage.

Good point. Why would anyone assume a Trump supporter would take responsibility for their own behaviour when they can blame the left?

Trump has already promised to pay their legal bills so that's the "connection".

That's the point, many of them ARE the left. It certainly shows in their behavior. ;)

Well, with Trump being a well known Marxist, it's hardly surprising.

It doesn't have to be. We have let it become that way.

I'm pretty sure it's always been messy. E.g. https://soapboxie.com/us-politics/Violence-in-the-US-Congress-Fistfights-on-the-Senate-Floor

in 1798 when Roger Griswold, a Federalist Congressman from Connecticut got into a heated debate with Matthew Lyon, a Vermont Democratic-Republican. Griswold made the mistake of calling Lyon a scoundrel (a word that was considered profanity at the time). Lyon then spit in Griswold's face and there was no stopping the ensuing melee. Neither Griswold or Lyon believed in the proverb, "forgive and forget". A few weeks later, Griswold attacked Lyon on the Senate floor with a cane and then Lyon went after him with a pair of fire tongs.
