Delaware Senate Race: A Kamikaze Republican and the Tea Party

I wouldn't be so sure. Delaware has never really been a democratic state. There have been republicans as conservative represent DE before.

But...Goddamit, they had to choose her in the primaries...
Hey Dark, are there any Tea Party backed members you would back?

oh, no, the gop has done a marvelous job in opposition, we have turned the entire nation, outside the professional left and their amateur chatrooming chums, against this socialist, alien, arrogant, overambitious, narcissistic incompetent

we have been united, we have been principled, we have been consistent and clear, we have been professional and mature...

we have shown a thousand times more leadership in opposition than the extremist amateurs occupying pennsylvania have in power

we have also completely remade our party, made it exciting and new while touching into the glorious traditions of our past

we have earned what's coming, and it will come

your anti rhino agenda is totally valid in another time and place

your worry is now NOT the arlen specters of the gop

those kinda lightweights wafted by weather are themselves blown far right by the gust

you don't have to worry about unity or loyalty or principle, not now, not in these times

times like these, like physics, CREATE a reagan, a reagan is coming

politics requires patience, it's the wisdom of the longview

i don't believe i'm telling you anything you don't know, you clearly remember dear ronnie

i think i might be reminding you, tho, i think i might be giving you a buck up when the frustration with what's been going on the last 2 years becomes intolerable

hang in, we got him, he's ours

he's hardwired, he can do no other than what he has, what he always does

it's his character

come together, kick ass

Yes. The Accountant in New York 23rd..., I can't remember his name...was one. Rubio is another. There are several. All the ones I support show good moral character. Angle and O'donnel don't show that. At least not yet.

doug hoffman

a year ago in november after dede scossafava was forced out due to the almost universal protest of upstate republicans against her liberal record, hoffman ran conservative party and lost to bill owens by a point after dede endorsed the dem

last nite, owens lost his primary in ny23, 51-49 to matt doheny

hoffman had threatened if he lost to go 3rd party again

if he does we will once more lose the 23rd which had been gop for a hundred years

fyi

Cook Partisan Voting Index - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

According to Cook PVI, Delaware is the 9th most Democratic state, just above Connecticut and just below California.

Or I could vote 3rd Party. The days of accepting "Well at least he's a Republican" are over. The GOP has greatly disappointed me so far this year.

Eh, whatever. If you're okay with universal health care being the law of the land for the rest of our lives as long as you can feel good about yourself, so be it.

"At least she's a conservative" is just as bad as "At least he's a Republican", and that seems to be what people are doing with O'Donnell. If Castle was a corrupt scumbag, or a weasel like Specter or Crist, I'd understand booting him out, but I have yet to see any evidence of that. Meanwhile, O'Donnell has not made a great impression so far.

Not sure why I'm even bothering... anyone who shows a willingness to throw their vote away with a 3rd party candidate when they admit so much is at stake has to live on a different plane of existence than I do.

It does in this case when so many say she can't win

Um, yeah, and an 11-point Coons lead does not disprove this sentiment. Possibly the opposite, in fact.

What would be the sense in having a majority if someone like Castle would vote against repealing the HC bill or would vote for a cap and trade. We'd still end up with the same results, only they would be called bi-partisan.

Not the same; Castle is a moderate, not a liberal. And he voted against the health care bill the first time, no reason to believe he wouldn't have done it again.

Well, the GOP was given the opportunity to show their loyalty to the voters wishes, and their response to their "defeat" in Delaware was to snub the voters and say they were going to help her win the election. Getting their old-boy elected was more important than getting an American elected.

They'd rather have a scum bucket Democrat in the Senate than a Republican wild-card who might rather obey the Constitution than play golf with the Democrats.

And that, my friend, is EXACTLY why the Tea Party is so influential this year. The Americans are tired of the liberals and socialists calling themselves moderates while they rape the Republic.

There's no essential difference. When push comes to shove, the flaming moderate always votes to screw the public then he goes back to screwing the pooch.

The only thing moderates can be counted on is to lose their alleged "principles" when principles count, and they vote with the Democrats.

Yes, Delaware is the state that elected as their senator a man so deeply under the control of the major credit card companies conveniently home-officed in his state that he had no qualms about selling out the middle and lowers classes by making it more difficult to file for personal bankruptcy even as the credit card companies were jacking up fees and interest rates. Delawarians don't have a lot of integrity, obviously.

Whereas a Delaware Democrat would stab you in the back in every single issue.

No.

Only a fool turns his back on a Democrat.

It makes it easier for him to steal your wallet.

The GOP has been far far too close to the "center" and as a result the nation is falling off the left edge of the table. Shooting RINO's is the best way to move the party to the Right, where the Americans are. Absent that, kicking them out of office is good enough.

Um, yeah, and an 11-point Coons lead does not disprove this sentiment. Possibly the opposite, in fact.

If she has no chance where is the huge lead

If she has no chance where is the huge lead

11 points is a relatively huge lead. Especially this close to election day.

ms odonnell is hot, she will bounce, her achievement impresses

she profits by being personally trashed by THE ESTABLISHMENT, just like ms brewer, just like ms haley in sc, just like ms pro wrestler in ct, just like the great grizzly herself

mr castle's pouty, poor loser persona, his petty peevishness, repels a portion of his support which will sympathize with the dumped-on upstart

ms odonnell will cut her deficit in half within a week

this race is gonna be close, don't count her out

Dav, your guy lost and he's a sore loser to boot.
Now if O'Donnell can beat Harry Reid's pet, we'll have someone who's votes will reflect the will of the people.

Well its all opinion based on where one's personal views are, however it the American people were truely where you said they were than the Tea Party would be much bigger than it is, and the Dems wouldnt control the three branches right now.

Its supposed to be the "Grand Old Party" big, proud, and diverse, all I've seen is an attempt by many to boot some of its own members because they aren't 'conservative enough.' As in, there's no room more moderates, something thats become a dirty word.

Can someone please explain where the hell they came up with the myth that the GOP is supposed to be "diverse" to be "grand"? I'm not seeing it. If it's so far to the left that a duplicitous ass like Castle can get the party leadership biting the people's choice, then the party has nothing to be proud of. It has become, like the Democrats, party of pull.

The GOP is supposed to reflect AMERICAN values, not "big tent" bull**** so vast there's 92 rings and no center pole to hold the thing up? The implosion of the GOP began when the Bushes started this Big Tent bull**** and lost the support of the right (ie, American) as the country clubbers pursued the big spending socialists. Thus came 2006 and 2008.

Nope, the Americans are awakening again, something that's happened only a couple of times in the past, something that takes a decade or more to complete, and it's something that Saul Alinsky didn't plan for in his little book on how to wreck America. If it's a true awakening, the Left is going to be screaming. If it's not, the nation is never going to wake from it's socialist coma, and the question you lefties have to ask yourselves is what are you going to do when you've stolen all the money there is? That there should be a really important question for anyone on the left reading this message, because, to be blunt, you're not going to do well when the nanny state dies.

Firstly, you dont know what socialism is, its obvious you've never seen or lived in a socialist nation.

Secondly, are you telling me that the reason the Republican party/ideology doesn't have more supporters is because it has too many supporters? What I'm reading is that people left the party because Bush tried to make it too encompassing, and the only way to make it bigger is in fact to make it smaller by throwing out people like Castle and his supporters?

More is less, less is more? What?

Double Standards? I got one name for you: Joe Lieberman

I've got another... Joe Biden.
Journolists (and dumb assed Republicans) slag on O'Donnell, but where were they for decades when he was caught in a Quadruple Whopper Meal sized lie during his presidential run.

He plagiarized... yet... the Journolists and Democrats gave him a full deck of "Get out of jail free" cards.

And he's pulled all sorts or dumb statements... yet he's fit to be Senator and VP.

Character?

Yes... he's a character all right... a character lacking character.

His vapid Stock market comments.
