Economist and New York Times columnist Paul Krugman says the only way the U.S. will get its debt crisis under control is by the use of "death panels" and a national sales tax.http://krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/11/14/death-panels-and-sales-taxes/

Oh, there goes that "ultra-conservative" NEW YORK TIMES spreading lies and fear mongering again about Obamacare "death panels". But then why is there mandatory "end of life" counceling for old people? You don't suppose they might accidently imply that the old person has become a burden to their family, do you?

The version of President Obama's universal health care plan pending in the U.S. House would require "end-of-life" counseling for senior citizens, and the former lieutenant governor for the state of New York is warning people to "protect their parents" from the measure.
Obamacare for old folks: Just 'cut your life short'

what exactly do you think "end of life" counseling is? this is plain ridiculous.

Stupid misinformationj dies a long hard death.

So, do you think it's about setting up a will or something? Even if it was, why exactly should the government be compelled to be involved? What the hell do they care except for the money invovled? This EOL counceling, as they are euphamisically referring to it, is a "Dr. Kevorkian" chat about turning out the lights to save the government money on medical expenses. They'll be given the choice of ending it all or suffer with what's ailing them.

Because we used to not pay for the patient who wanted these things. Anyone actually investigating this would know this, which is why conservatives like Grassley were for it. Sure, he made political hay out of this lie, but he can't change his actual history. A lie is a hard thing to get rid of. Which is why the dishonest use them so much in politics. There's always someone willing to believe the lie no matter how much evidence there is to the contrary. But there were never any death panels.

oooooh, it's too funny :D

yeah, tell me again how there are no panels which exist to deny people treatment, boo. only right wing fear-mongerers like Krugman would ever spread that kind of dirty lie, right?

there are no "death panels", there is only a "whole life systems" :)

it's not socialism it's "public ownership" :)

we're not going to have a war on islamist jihiadis, we're going to have "overseas contingency operations" :)

it's not a take-over of the healthcare system, it's a "jobs bill" :)

and so on and so forth..... ;) Alinsky must be proud.

there are death panels........at the insurance companies.

you could certainly call them that; which is why i am all in favor of suing any company that tries to avoid its' contractual obligation right down into the dirt.

but let's not pretend they aren't in the new Obamacare ;)

OK. Let's hear your spin on why the government is forcing "end of life" discussions with people. When health care dollars get rationed, which everyone agrees will happen, who do you think the money will be spent on, sixty to eighty year olds or twenty to forty year olds? Go.

They are not forcing them, have never suggested forcing them, they only said they would pay for them.

Health care dollars are rationed today, right now, before reform and have been thoughout our history. Price alone rations healthcare dollars.
