'De-Putinize Russia': Petro Poroshenko Urges West to Take its Chance
I agree with Mr. Poroshenko. Isolate Russia to the greatest extent possible, and do not allow Putin a vctory in Ukraine.
My takeaway from Poroshenko is that PUTIN, not Russia, should be made the focus of world loathing. At the moment Putin is hiding behind "Russia" and "the motherland" as the object being vilified by the west...he is playing on the historic insecurity of Russians and myth that they are surrounded by enemies.
Take a page out of Alinsky ... "RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” ... "isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions"..."Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works."
Valdimir Putin is the 21st century's Hitler, he has lied and manipulated to the Russian people, he has murdered his Russian critics, he has stolen double- or triple-digit billions, he has slaughtered sons, mothers, and even children in mad pursuit for more power. This is not about Russia; this is about one man that has led Russia and the world to war...Vladimer Putin.
As tempting (and truthful) as it is to blame Russian culture and its people, give the Russian people a way to save face...not Putin.
