The World Health Organization recently unbanned DDT. Now third-world nations will have greater freedom to spend their aid money on the chemical. Do you think this is wise?

My opinion: It is the greatest pesticide ever invented, and will surely save millions of lives from malaria. It has NEVER been shown to cause health problems in humans...in fact, all it has ever been proven to do is to make birds' eggshells thinner. The removal of the ban is the best thing to happen to world health since the eradication of smallpox.

As with all "toxic" compounds, DDT should be used with care so as to prevent the contamination into waterways.
AS the devil advocate here though, we have enough a population problem on this planet already.
