DDPD Implementation Follow-up Commission Meeting to Convene Tomorrow

The Implementation Follow up Commission (IFC) of Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD) is to convene its eleventh meeting in Khartoum tomorrow.
The IFC was established by the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD) to evaluate the performance of the agreement to see how it operates.
The Chairperson of the IFC, Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for the Council of Ministers Affairs of Qatar, and UNAMID Joint Special Representative/Joint Chief Mediator, Martin Uhomoibhi will also brief the press on the outcome of the meeting after its conclusion.
The Commission, chaired by the State of Qatar, is the major mechanism for monitoring the implementation of the DDPD. Commission membership includes the Government of the Sudan, National Liberation and Justice Party, Liberation and Justice Party and the Justice and Equality Movement-Sudan, representatives of Burkina Faso, Canada, Chad, China, Egypt, France, Japan, the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the United States of America, the African Union, the European Union, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and UNAMID, which is also facilitating the meeting.
In a related development, the tripartite committee of UNAMID exit strategy which includes the government of Sudan, United Nations and UNAMID, will visit to Darfur States. The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ali Al-Sadiq told media on Friday that the objective of the visit is to see the situation on the ground during the period 8-16th of the current month after which it will meet on the 23rd to review the outcome of the visit.
