Washington, D.C.’s health insurance exchange has awarded a $375,000 grant to abortion provider Planned Parenthood to help enroll participants in Obamacare, the exchange announced on Tuesday.

As part of its effort to boost enrollment in the exchange created by President Obama’s health care law, the D.C. Health Benefit Exchange doled out $6.4 million to 35 DC-based groups. Those groups include local churches as well as health care and community organizations.

One of the largest awards went to Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington D.C. A full list of groups is available [at link].

Priorities are what they are, aren't they?

Very good move. Relatively high concentration of people needing insurance that do not qualify for Medicaid.

Completely repugnant.

Great news. Thanks for the info it is good to know that many will benefit from this health exchange program.

I agree. More people having access to reasonable health care? Now, that is pro-life!!!!!

I may not be fond of Obamacare, it was clearly a first step, a foot in the door - so to say. In time folks will realize that a hybrid of a single payer system is what would give the most cost effective care to the most amount of people.

Boohoo over it being socialist...it is the moral thing to do. The most Jesus-y.

Glad you acknowledge that what you're talking about is socialism. But I think you probably ought to leave Jesus out of it.

So it is ok for Jesus/God/Religion to be brought into it when it is about abortion, but not access to healthcare and assuring people do not die of what should be non-fatal diseases.

Good to know.

Always happy to aid somebody in the acquistion of knowledge. The person you tend to zero in on, JayDubya, is an atheist, and very few of those who post regularly in this forum bring religion into the discussion (not that I think this is wrong).

But don't let me interfere with your making something out of nothing.

So, from the political pro-life standpoint, do you think God enters into the discussion a little or a lot?

Around here, very little.

Around here, it's usually the pro-abortion folks citing religious beliefs. Things like reincarnation, like calling kids concieved in rape being made in the devil's image... people saying souls enter bodies during the first breath. All of that.

Our anti-abortion posters are frequently religious, but it's rare to see those folks make religion part of their argument.

I am speaking of in general.

It's nice to see someone finally acknowledging that Planned Parenthood is a low cost, no insurance, health care provider, and not just a place to get an abortion.

It's just really hard for extremely religious people to realize that Jesus would not have been Conservative at all. I'm not a religious person in the slightest and even I can see that.

You would think after the Susan Komen Foundation fiasco that folks would have realized how varied their services PP has!

And I totally agree....Jesus would hardly be a conservative.

well, PP getting their kickback money isn't my biggest concern... my biggest concern is why it cost 6.4 million dollars ... in a single city... to help enroll people.
why are cash grants being handed out when the training is provided for by the government?

. and lastly, how can i get in on this cash cow?... I can give people pencils and forms too, ya know.

I was glad they exposed their ties to the hate group Planned Parenthood so strongly and publicly. They lost a lot of donations as a result. Shame they still exist at all, though.

Well, it certainly was a boon for Planned Parenthood. Up until then, many narrow minded folks though Planned Parenthood was an abortion mill. Now it is clearly understood by all but the most politically blinded folks that cancer prevention and diagnosis and even some treatment is part of Planned Parenthood's scope.

Thanks to a political hack at the top of Planned Parenthood....PP had a huge spike in donations!

Ahhhhh the hate group Planned Parenthood that attempts to make sure poor underserved uninsured clients have their breast cancers diagnosed before they become advanced and deadly.

as for the Komen foundation, well....., **** them!, liberals pretending to care about "womens health" gleefully cheered.

Wow. **** them?

Wow. What did they do to inspire such hate? The gave money to Planned Parenthood targeted at helping clients obtain breast exams/mammography.

Access to early diagnosis of breast cancer - how evil !!!
