Daddy preacher is a real winner!! Get ready for war against Liberals while all of his children are Liberals. The FBI needs to check him out.

Daughter of Pro-Trump Evangelical Pastor Calls Out Father for Calling Dems Evil: 'That's Me' (msn.com)
Back in September, Joyner, 71, urged American Christians to "mobilize" and "get ready" for a war against liberal activists. The religious leader reiterated those views earlier this month. "It will be a civil war and it's going to be increasingly worse with the increasing time it takes for Americans to stand up and push back against this evil that has taken over our land," Joyner said on The Jim Bakker Show.

But Joyner's children have pointed out that, if any such conflict were to actually break out, they'd be aligned with the side opposite their father.

"He talks about Democrats being evil, forgetting that all five of his kids vote Democratic," Joyner's eldest child, Anna Jane Joyner, 36, a climate change activist and podcast host, told The New York Times recently. "Who is he asking his followers to take up arms against? Liberal activists? That's me."

Tragic that he teaches his flock to see their neighbors as enemies, and that his family would turn on each other over it. :(

That's literally right wing rhetoric for about 30 years. The entire reason we are where we are is because Limbaugh-style pundits and talk show hosts have been conditioning conservatives to see liberals as domestic enemies for decades.

Uhuh. There's been no tribalism on the left at all, nor any denigration of conservatives

I wholeheartedly agree on the right. But, he's not the only one broken in this family :(

There's tribalism and then there's subversion. Democrats have until 2017 always seen Republicans as political opponents, which is an unsubtle difference from domestic enemies. It was Limbaugh and the people who followed in his footsteps who took conservatives' hands and guided them to the next level up from seeing Democrats as merely political foes.

Now of course you're going to come up with examples of left wing pundits doing Limbaugh-style demagoguery, and you'd be wrong because even though you don't get the difference yourself, those pundits weren't doing actual subversion because we weren't being conditioned to see Republicans as domestic enemies. They may have sounded the same to you, but the message we were receiving wasn't remotely like the message conservatives were receiving.

Evil comes in all sorts.

I'll have to dig it up, but, I think more than anything else, both sides have become convinced the other hates them / looks down on them / sees them as the enemy.

Words have meaning. If they sound the same, well, there's good reason for that. Am I supposed to respond with the equal notion that there is some kind of conservative gnosis that lets is know when the same arguments have special, softer meaning?

Nah.

This man teaches his flock to look at their neighbors as something to be feared. That's a tragic perversion of the New Testament. His daughter uses it to attack him publicly. That's a tragic inside attack from within a family. Everyone here seems broken :(.

It sure is Christian of him to call members of his own congregation evil. Or does he review their ballots to make sure they’re voting the way “good Christians” do?

We were shocked to learn in early 2017 that conservatives genuinely hated us. So either you were confused or we were. And the fact that we were shocked to learn that conservatives thought of us as enemies and not merely political foes means that you heard our pundits incorrectly. You believed that left wing punditry was simply the flip side of right wing demagoguery, but you heard wrong.

And of course you're going to reject this explanation because it means that what you got wrong was too fundamentally great to admit to...but you were wrong.

Isn’t Jim Bakker a ConMan who went to jail?

Uhuh. There's been no tribalism on the left at all,
No, there really hasn't. Democrats are literally made up of people from all walks of life. All Races, Religions, Genders, Orientations, and classes. Republicans pretty much entirely made up of White Christians at this point. That's basically the only group of people they can win and they've turned it into an us verses them mentality.

I'm a white man who makes six figures, and I'm happy to vote for laws that in the short term don't directly benefit me because I'm a decent human being who knows that in the long term it's better for everyone.

Nah. You're projecting a monolithic position onto varied groups and people, just as those whom you accuse do. Media for both sides highlight the worst voices of the other, and so, that's what we come to think that "they" are like. :(

No, there really hasn't

No there really has - the Democratic party is where identity politics has long had it's home. That's why Biden thinks he can say that If You Don't Vote For Him You Ain't Black - because the Democratic party has long seen itself (correctly) as the home for African American identity politics. Over the past half decade, we've witnessed America's second major party follow suit, much to our loss as a country. :(

I doubt he forgets his kids are liberals and I bet he hates it. It doesn't mean he doesn't love his kids, but just believes they are wrong. He supports his beliefs.

Richard Nixon developed the Southern Strategy. He intentionally recruited racist white southerners and rural people angry about Civil Rights.
It is racist whites that made this about race. Democrats have plans and policies that benefit everyone, including the majority of white people and Christians.
Republicans could give a shit less about you if you're not a rich white Christian.

Glad my family doesn't run to the media to air our disagreements.

The Democratic party has been a coalition of identity groups since FDR - that's one of the major reasons he was so successful. It wasn't a Repubkican who argued that the true benefit of the Civil Rights Act was that "It'll have them n-----s voting [for us] for 200 years", it was LBJ.

🤷 until later, the Democratic Party was generally more coalitional/tribal than it was ideological - everyone stuck together and everyone got paid. The GOP, being stupid, was slightly more ideological (then it decided to abandon that). You can tell by how they accused their Opposition: Republicans claimed Democrats were all Socialists (ie: they were a horrible extreme opposition to our ideology), whole Democrats claimed Republivans were all Racists (ie: they were a horrible extreme opposition to our identity group).

Now it's identity hatred and the accusation thereof all the way down. Yay. :(

Gosh. I wonder where some of them get the idea that leftists don't like them very much

Right...a whole bunch of identity groups that have no choice, but to unite in order to defend ourselves against the White Christian tribe.

"It'll have them n-----s voting [for us] for 200 years", it was LBJ.
False Quote. He said we've lost the South. He didn't say blacks would vote for Democrats he said racist white people would vote against them.

Democrats have never elected a Socialist President. Not even a Democratic Socialist which is very different.
Republicans have elected almost nothing but Racists.
Democrats generalization is very accurate. Republicans generalization isn't even in the ballpark.

The idea that the two parties in their current form are equivalent is ludicrous.

Dude was making his grievance public, I dont know why his own daughter should then stay quiet on the issue.
I never claimed the preacher acted appropriate. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Actually, there wasn't for the first 20 years or so. Then Obama got elected and we realized the right was never going to stop. That's when the left started fighting back. Much to the indignation of the right. The right poisoned the well and now they're whining because the don't like the water.

If your father is acting inappropriately, you need to call that out. Who knows? Maybe they have tried to talk to him in the past and he hasn’t listened and they’ve had enough of his crap.

Uhuh. My father in law tells the same story, except it's W Bush, and the big ole meanies are Those Crazy Hate-Filled Liberals.
