A Watkins Elementary School staff member told third-graders in library class to reenact scenes from the Holocaust, directing them to dig their classmates’ mass graves and simulate shooting the victims, according to an email from the school’s principal. The instructor was placed on leave Friday.
She allegedly assigned specific roles to students. She cast one student as Adolf Hitler ... That student is Jewish ... At the end of the exercise, the child was told to pretend to commit suicide, as Hitler did
... A different parent of a student who was a part of the reenactment said her son had to pretend to be on a train to a concentration camp, then act as if he were dying in a gas chamber. He also had to act as if he were shooting his peers
... when the children asked why the Germans did this, the staff member said it was “because the Jews ruined Christmas.”
The instructor asked students after the reenactment not to tell anyone about it

really doubt there will be much posting in support of the suspended school staff member
but WTF!
why would anyone - especially an educator - believe this was an appropriate approach to teach third grade kids

Anti-semitism is alive and well. How can it not be? The rest of the world tries to kill us every generation or three. Has done for a few thousand years now.

Like racism, sexism, and all the other isms, it never went away. Evil people just learned to tone it down to wink wink nudge nudge know what I mean?, and sometimes just the wink. Modern Trumpists proudly defend them (and in any number of cases are them), fighting against each and every single instance in which an ism is condemned.

Remember, they told us that's why they voted for Trump. Racism was considered deplorable and they just couldn't have that.

Anti-semitism certainly exists in Europe. 90% of it comes from Muslims. Most of the rest from within leftist bodies like the British Labour Party, often thinly disguised as anti-Zionism. The latter's leader, Sir Keir Starmer, is making genuine but ineffectual attempts to eliminate it.

You have to learn when to ignore teachers some time in grade school. Many want to "mold children's minds to be as dumb as they are.
