Current TV Series You'd Like To Recommend

Madoff: the Monster of Wall Street (2022) 4 part documentary about how Bernie Madoff with a lot of people's money (get it? lol). I didn't have anything else in the queue and I thought I knew it all already, but this docu did hold my attention. Turns out there were more interesting tidbits from what happened. Worth watching for the added insight. Rating: 7.5/10
I have seen this one and recommend it. I found it fascinating. Every time you would think this is as bad as it gets, it gets oh so much worse.

If you like that kind of thing, did you see Dropout? About Elizabeth Holmes, HULU.

And there were 2 on the Lularoe fiasco. I also thought the one on the Chippendales was ok, also on HULU.

"Billions" is an inside look at a billionaire trader who grapples with family, business, and a US District Attorney hell bent on prosecuting him. Very engaging show with Paul Giamatti as the DA (great actor).

Inside Man, with Stanley Tucci, was really good! I'm hoping for a 2nd season. There seems to be some foreshadowing for one at the end of season 1.
Yup, that was quite the hint for a second season. A show worth every minute of watching.

Was there much humor in Tulsa King? I like shows like that that are also fun/funny.
There's a little bit of humor in it, but its mostly understated.
Yellowstone

This series was recommended by my brother and seemed to get good reviews. I wanted to catch it in chronological order, so we started with “1883.” I realize that “1883” was shot as a prequel to “Yellowstone.” Another second prequel was “1928” and it has only released four episodes, next to start on 5FEB23. “1883” was well done and ”1928” has been decent for four episodes. We went back and started “Yellowstone,” after the other two offerings. If we had started with “Yellowstone,” we may never have tried the prequels. “Yellowstone” is awful, acting is bad and the plot lines aren’t rooted in any reality. “Yellowstone” brings”Dynasty” or “Falcon Crest” to mind except with soft porn and profanity added.

”1883” brings “Dances With Wolves”, “Lonesome Dove” and “Little House On the Prairie” to mind.
I gave up on Yellowstone after watching 2 seasons because it just got repetitive. It was sort of like a bloodier version of Dallas.

Since you think 1883 is better I might watch it, since I like westerns a lot.

Had anyone watched the woman of the dead?

It seems a bit too dark, even for me.

Just watched the famous 3rd episode of "The Rest of Us"

Wow, just wow.

Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett from season 1 of White Lotus, just kill it. Its amazing, it is heart wrenching, it is great.

Love is the great healer.

I really enjoyed the first season and could have sworn the show had been canceled after 1 season But season 2 is out now. I'm rewatching season 1 before I get to it.

based on the story of Lidia Poët

Have any of you watched Peaky Blinders? How many episodes did you watch?

Sorry, Ive been busy watching so many other things. I'll get back to you on it later in the year (hopefully).

Copenhagen Cowboy Season 1 (2022)- Ive watched almost every gangster show there is and I thought I know all the tropes by now, but this one was so mind-bending that it completely surprised me. Its about a very strange woman who is treated as a sort of lucky charm by the Danish underworld, and it gets weirder from there. Nicolas Winding Refn is like the Danish version of David Lynch and David Cronenberg, and his works are very interesting, imo. I was expecting something along the lines of his older gangster movies like Pusher, but this is so different, and refreshing. Rating: 9/10

Loved it

Too Old to Die Young (2019) I just discovered this, and its pretty damn good. If you like crime shows, this is one of the best so far. It doesnt fall into cliches or generic territory, so the quality is there. The visual storytelling is unique in this type of genre too. I dont know how he does it, but Nicolas Winding Refn always manages to make the usual stuff refreshing. Each episode is pretty long, almost like a movie on its own. Rating 8.5/10

MH370: The Plane that Disappeared (2023) Whoa, I thought that this mystery was already solved, but after watching this 3 part documentary, it opens up a huge can of worms. I never realized that the NTSB findings remains inconclusive to his day. After seeing all the possible scenarios, this is like the Jack the Ripper of air disasters. So many suspects, but nothing concrete. How a modern plane carrying 200+ people can disappear without a trace is one of the biggest mysteries ever. I learned a ton of new info after watching this. Rating 8.5/10

Fans of the Godfather will like this, although it drags and takes a few liberties with the truth.

Yellowjackets comes back Friday. Trailers are really good.

I've been watching both seasons of The Kingdom on Netflix.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt15068148/
I didn't read any reviews and almost turned it off because it was a slow start and ever so much of the stereotypical mega church goings on. I forwarded through quite a bit of the "praise Jesus" moments as well but then they introduced the "fixer" and we are right in the middle of political and social issues and corruption. The last episode of season 2 had quite a few surprises.
If I should rate it, perhaps 7/10.

Anyone watching Yellowjackets? Will watch 2nd episode tonight. Thought first one was good, reviews have been mixed.

I just finished watching Traitors on Netflix. Interesting period piece set at the end of WWII.
