Cuba estimates total damage of U.S. embargo at $116.8 billion

Look, if Cuba is run by a tyrant, is harboring terrorists as the US has claimed for 50 years why the hell are you fighting terrorists half a world away when you have this terrible threat right on your pathetic doorstep?

Maybe the US should invade itself seeing as it harbours exiled Cuban terrorists. CANF anyone ?Luis Posada Carriles anyone ?

And on the question of these small and poor nations posing a national threat to the USA well , it's a joke.

Remember Nicaragua ?

To quote Reagan

"I, Ronald Reagan, President of the United States of America, find that the policies and actions of the Government of Nicaragua constitute an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States and hereby declare a national emergency to deal with that threat."

Or Grenada ? The nutmeg capital of the world , what a threat they posed . The US population must have been shaking in their boots

It's a wonderful country to visit. In Havana people can't wait for Fidel to die and the government to begin deconstructing itself but in the small towns they still revere the revolution. People in Villa Clara and Trinidad and Cienfuegos still put their hands over their hearts when they say, "Che!"
I want the government to become more liberal, I want the prosperity trade with the US would bring but I regret that an open border for Americans might turn Cuba into Jamaica.

cant tell if serious

other countries trade with cuba, the only major player who abides by it is the us.

so europe doesnt have vaccines to sell cuba,or is it that cuba used its money from foreign trade to make fidel the richest dictator in the world, rather than its citizens well being.

fidel is estimated around 900mil in worth, not counting countless piles of cuban cash spent on his palaces and luxuries, while the average doctor in cuba makes 67 dollars a month,a nurse around 25 a month, and the average govt job 20 a month, given in 2012 their gdp was over 60 billion, and there are plenty of third world nations with better access to medical supplies to trade with, all evidence points to money being spent on head govt officials, and not the people.

oh and fyi, cubas gdp per capita is over 6k,yet they are lucky to make 120 dollars a year.

Ah ,so now the cats out of the bag and it becomes apparent that the claim you made about Cuba selling the drugs Canada gave to it , something you have completely failed to substantiate , is just something you snatched out of the air because you don't like Castro. Okay lol

My guess is that you never even bothered looking at the links I provided , which went some way to explaining the situation regarding medicine shortages , and I could have supplied many many more from institutions that have a more objective treatment of Cuban healthcare.

If a company trades with the Cubans they are penalized and may face legal action. They are in fact forced to choose between trade with Cuba or trade with the US. ( see Helms-Burton Act below )

Which is the bigger market ? It's a no brainer

But don't let such facts spoil your fun

Helms

your first link says because companies are penalized, but are still able to trade, the second link doest say much but blames america.

china is cubas largest trade partner,so tell me why arent they buying chinese medical supplies,or canadian?heck why not from russia, they manufactured medical supplies during the soviet union.

face the fact, other companies can produce medical equipment and supplies, especially countries like china who bootleg everything.the us does not control every single piece of medical equipment produced.

even further cuba already has on of the lowest gdp to wage ratios in the world, meaning almost every dime made by cuban people through production goes to the govt, and seeing their supply shortages, its easy to see they lack supplies not because they cant get them, its because their govt uses that money elsewhere.
