CT-Sen: New Rasmussen Poll Shows Closer Race (1 Viewer)

So it's a statistical dead heat. Lieberman is playing the race card too, how Rovian. I remember when Joe promised to meet with the insane nutjob Louis Farakhan during the 2000 election. What a loser Joe is...

My prediction is that Joe drops out of the race before the election and ends up on 24/7 cable news as "The Voice of The Democratic Party" even though he's not a Dem anymore...

CT-Sen: New Rasmussen Poll Shows Closer Race
Today, I got a sneak peak at a new Connecticut poll (500 LV, 8/21, MoE 4. 8/9 numbers in parenthesis):

Lieberman: 45 (46)
Lamont: 43 (41)
Schlesinger: 6 (6)

Whatever Hipster....

Ol' turncoat Joe's gonna win the election. Hide and watch.

other than drinking the hate Bush koolaid and eating the surrender monkey french cheese, just what qualifies LaMent to be a Senator. Its amusing watching the same people who howled that a two term governor of one of the largest states in the Nation wasn't qualified to be President, yet they squeal in support of a guy who has ZERO experience and seems to have had everything handed to him based on a rich family

I am really hoping that a$$wipe Lieberman loses. The people have spoken in Connecticut, and they don't want him as their senator. So he switches parties? Talk about lame. He is a total loser, and I despise him.

Come on, Lamont! You can beat him. Keep talking because you are far more interesting and articulate than Liberman is.

1) several errors in your rant including the fact that it wasn't the people of CT, it was the democrat registered voters. Last I checked, republicans and indendents decide as well-for the general election

2) the people who whined the most about Bush being a spoiled rich kid with no experience are now becoming LaMonicas and kissing his feet as if he is the second coming

3) most of LaMent's support came from the socialist conspirators in the DailyKos, Soros, Moveon and other moonbat operatives OUTSIDE Of CT

4) its fun watching the moonbat wing pss all over the guy they said was qualified to be the president just a few years ago. This hysteria mainly comes from the fact that JL is a decent man who won't drink the KOSAID jimmy jones poison

I was just in connecticut in late May-Lamont's a lightweight and Joe's gonna win, then you dems will be donning kneepads and crawling in supplication before him lest he vote for the GOP slate

The only people that spoke are the left wing liberal base of the democratic party that came out to vote in the Primary and Lamont barely won........Lets see how the Independents (who are by far the biggest voter block in Conn) vote as well as 50,000 Republicans............

So the democrat registered voters in Connecticut are not "people in Connecticut"? LOL That's news to me.

lol Talk about a lame "rant."

See above comment. Next time you want to refute my "rant," I suggest you come back with more substantive arguments.

Wow. So that makes you an expert in how Connecticut will vote? I have a close friend who lives in Greenwich. She is a republican and says that Lieberman is going down. We shall see which one of you is right.

You just make this stuff up as you go, don't you?

Hipster, you're kidding yourself. Look at the actual numbers and see what's going to happen.

In 2004, 1,400,000 Connecticut voters cast ballots for the Senatorial election. This year, its probably safe to assume the number will be similar, as even though it's an off year, the race has garnered lots of attention. But even for argument's sake, let's say 200,000 lest voters turn out.

Okay. So now, we've got a total of 1,200,000 voters turning out to vote in this election. In the primary, Lamont got 146,000 votes while Lieberman got 136,000.

That means that there are going to be around 918,000 voters in the general election who haven't voted for either Lamont or Lieberman yet this year. If the crowd who voted in the Democratic primary (who is generally the most active and most liberal) only picked Lamont by 2 percent, you don't think that the MASSIVE amount of moderates in CT will pick Joe, even if only by, say, 5%? That would give Lieberman an 85,000 vote swing, much more than enough to pick off Lamont's 10,000 vote lead. And in reality, the swing is going to be a lot more than 5%. I'm sorry, but the general public of CT is much closer to Joe than to Ned, and they trust and believe in him. Plus, he's got the knowledge of how to work the last months of a race which is absolutely crucial.

Schlesinger is not going to be a factor in this race, he'll do better than 6% but not better than 15. The Republicans are mostly just making noise about replacing him right now, hoping to get Joe worried so that he asks them not to. This would give him something to think about when deciding where to caucus.

Lamont had his run, made his point, and is done with. It's clear he doesn't have the qualifications to be a Senator.

No I just know who usually votes in a democratic or republican primary and so do you........Its usually the hard core left or right of the base of the 2 parties.......I heard on the news that only 20% of the electorate voted in that primary and that independents hugely outnumber both democrats and repurlicans......
