Ted Cruz floated the possibility of restarting his presidential campaign if he wins Nebraska’s GOP primary on Tuesday and avoided saying whether he supports Donald Trump's bid for president.
Cruz, who suspended his White House run last week, said he does not expect to win Nebraska's primary but is leaving the door open.

"We launched this campaign intending to win. The reason we suspended our campaign was that with the Indiana loss, I felt there was no path to victory," he said Tuesday on conservative host Glenn Beck's radio program.

"If that changes, we will certainly respond accordingly."

Cruz demurred on supporting Trump, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, because the Republican National Convention and general election are still months away.

Sounds like Cruz gots a case of the messiah complex. Is this gonna be his resurrection moment? :lamo

He's calculating how to come out of this defeat with a future in politics. Spaghetti still being thrown against the wall.

As I said --

Quite the soap opera. I begin to wonder if Trump's motive in running was to set up the production of a new reality tv show - based upon the madcap dysfunction of various Republicans election campaigns.

Considering hes already a senator that doesnt seem to be much of a problem

Now now, look how badly losses impacted other candidates and forever wrecked their political careers. Can you imagine where Hillary Clinton could have been if not for that loss in the 2008 primaries?

Lets bring them all back. Would just love to see Trump's face

He'll need to win re-election come the mid-terms. If congress still has the poor ratings it currently enjoys, that won't be a for sure thing anymore. A lot will depend how he handles this election and the fallout.

Doesn't matter anyway, Trump conclusively kicked his nonexistent ass in both states tonight.

Cruz is in the most republican state who hasnt had a senator lose re-election since 1922

So when will you inform Bernie he is toast ? :lamo

He hasnt suspended his campaign like Cruz did... So really cant have a resurrection moment with his campaign when he hasnt suspended it...

What?

Ralph Yarborough lost renomination in 71. Then Bob Krueger who lost the election to finish Bentsen's term in 93.

In fact Cruz just announced he'll be running for re-election to the senate in 2018. Some thought he might skip that to run for POTUS again in 2020.

Re-election is not the same as re-nomination or an election for a seat that someone was appointed to fill. Cruz isn't an appointment nor will he have trouble with re-nomination. That Senate seat is pretty much his as long as he wants it to be.
