CRT - Questions Answered

I've yet to encounter a single "anti-CRT" person who doesn't subscribe to the "they are trying to rewrite our history" and/or the "they are teaching white children to feel guilty" canards.

The 'rewrite history' comes in with 1619. If the country was founded in slavery, it's entire foundation is suspect and therefore needs to be remade. This is where the concern comes from- the exact nature of the remaking.

As for white children feeling guilty, there are two ways of looking at this:

1. A white student learns about slavery and feels guilty about it

2. A teacher asserts that guilt should be felt white students due to slavery or white privilege

Most well-written anti-CRT laws address #2.

"Well written Anti CRT Laws" is an oxymoron.

Where exactly is No 2 being taught to elementary or high school students? Specifically.

We've been through this already. The 1619 Project doesn't re-write any history. You don't know this, because you've NEVER READ it. You've been challenged to document examples, and you have failed....repeatedly. Remember?
If the country was founded in slavery, it's entire foundation is suspect and therefore needs to be remade. This is where the concern comes from- the exact nature of the remaking.
In other words, the "nature" of your concern is your own cultural hysteria and white-grievance. That's already been well-chronicled on this forum, @Rickeroo

Your argument, above, remains utterly absurd. The foundational influence of slavery was LITERALLY enshrined in the Constitution. Have you ever bothered to READ that, either?

So again, you're telling us that most "anti-CRT" laws are written to address a myth/lie that exists only within the minds of a faction of conservative white people in society. We all know, as a matter of FACT, that not one single "anti-CRT"/white-grievance type has EVER been able to document examples of CRT actually being taught in a K-12 class room.....ANYWHERE in this country. EVER.

That's why these "well-written anti-CRT" laws LITERALLY ban the teaching of ANY TOPIC that might make white students "feel discomfort or distress".

Of course, we all know that most white students aren't the problem. It's their parents who feel "discomfort" about the REAL HISTORY of racism and white-supremacy in this country.

Again, this is the LITERAL definition of what is meant by the term "snowflakes".

The ACTUAL, ACCURATE HISTORY of our country is what it is. There are no valid "opinions" that slavery was not foundational to the origins and the growth/prosperity of America. The TRUTH is that you (and people like you) want to continue forcing a WHITE-WASHED version of HISTORY into the classrooms of our public schools.

The leftists are ****ing hilarious.

CRT isnt taught! thats not what they mean when their expsed agenda shows them teaching CRT...and besides...why shouldnt CRT be taught?

CRT is a marxist fraud. It was bullshit when the leftists proposed it, when the idiot left taught in law schools, and it is bullshit when the idiot left is continueing their attempt to use it on children. Sorry, leftists...but no...not 'everything' is racist, not 'everything -' should be seen through the lens of racism, and if you actually gave a **** about the black communities, you would admit that the only areas where minorites ARE systemically oppressed are in the cities that have been run BY democrats for numerous decades.
I can tell you didn't watch the video, because this is all wrong, just wrong. It's not about current oppression, it's about how the laws followed through slavery, segregation, and it's largely historical law.

"Well written Anti CRT Laws" is an oxymoron.

Where exactly is No 2 being taught to elementary or high school students? Specifically.
This is why I posted this, because the right seems to think it means anything that has to do with race relations or basic history.

Wow, well said.

Oh, you don't want to leave anything out regarding racism?

Good, then let's make sure to teach kids how the father of the progressive movement, Teddy Roosevelt, was a white nationalist. Let's teach kids about the racist origins of labor unions, how they were started in order to prevent newly freed blacks from competing with white workers. How the labor leaders that Bernie Sanders extols, like Debs and Gompers, were all vile racists. Let's teach kids the racist origins of gun control, which is a pet issue for modern progressives, and how gun control is still racist today. Let's teach kids the truth about progressive hero FDR - that he was yet another racist leftist who committed the worst US civil rights violation of the 20th century by locking up over 100,000 Japanese Americans in concentrations camps based only on their ethnicity, and how FDR prevented Jewish refugees from coming to America.
Most of the above are hardly secrets....except perhaps to same people who think it's "racist" to teach the history of racism and white-supremacy in this country.

That said...of course ALL of our HISTORY should be taught to every America K-12 child. OF COURSE. In fact, I challenge you to find ANY liberal who would object to ANY of the above being taught at age-appropriate levels in public schools. History is what it is.

If you honestly think that "the left" would object to ANY of that.....you are making the mistake of assuming that "the left" is motivated by the same things (bigotry, racism, etc.) that motivate people like you.

You white-grievance types are already a minority of the electorate. And within the next 2 decades, white Americans will comprise a minority of the total population. So, the era of WHITE-WASHING HISTORY for you people is over. You don't get to OMIT or CHANGE History.....simply because it causes "discomfort" for some white people, etc......anymore.
https://www.timesofisrael.com/histo...bigotry-derailed-many-holocaust-rescue-plans/
The only reason people like you want to teach kids about racism is to make white kids feel guilty and black kids feel like victims.
:ROFLMAO:....why should white kids be treated like they are too stupid to understand their own history as Americans? It's SOME of their white-grievance parents who are the problem. People like you, who hide their shame by embracing white-nationalism/white-supremacy.....or, people who are just dumb-assed bigots and racists who want to raise dumb-assed bigoted offspring because it validates their own worthless, hell-bound lives.

As for Black kids, they certainly don't feel like victims. That's another one of those fact-free white-grievance talking points that you like to repeat, I'm afraid.

The only reason people like you object to teaching ALL of our history (including the parts that portray white people as something less than brave, benevolent, paternal and SUPERIOR).....is because you are terrified that your own children/grandchildren will REJECT the bigotry you've trying to instill in them, and (perhaps) even begin to see their parents/grandparents for the ignorant bigots and evil racists that many of them may be (or may have been).

The leftists are ****ing hilarious.
Really?

Or, more likely, might it just be that white-grievance righties are a bunch of lying ***ing morons?

CRT isnt taught! thats not what they mean when their expsed agenda shows them teaching CRT...and besides...why shouldnt CRT be taught?
See above.

Lying ***ing morons.....all of 'em (it seems).

CRT is a marxist fraud.
Moronic statement.

You people have a nasty (entitled) habit of malevolently trying to redefine basic words and terms in the English language. Either that, or it all goes right back to the whole "lying ****ing morons" thing again. You call things "Marxist" and "Socialist" that have nothing to do with Marxism or Socialism. You call ANYTHING that involves discussing race/racism...."CRT". You believe OPPOSITION to racism.....is "reverse-racism". You see whites as the "real" victims in society, and white "culture" as superior in every way.

White-grievance types, as a group, are about as Orwellian as it gets. It's part of the life-cycle of all FASCIST movements, though.

So, to correct the record (yet again).....CRT has ZERO to do with Marxism. But mislabeling everything about your opponent as "Marxist" or "Socialist" or "Communist", etc......is LITERALLY what "a FASCIST fraud" looks like, my white-grievance friend.

It was bullshit when the leftists proposed it,
Dumb comment.

If you are even old enough to have known about it, back in the mid 70's, you had no idea about it, or its intellectual and legal underpinnings.

Just say you don't agree with it because...well....we all know why. That would be more honest.

when the idiot left taught in law schools, and it is bullshit when the idiot left is continueing their attempt to use it on children.
See above.....that stuff about white-grievance types being a bunch of "lying ****ing morons"

I see why you people love Putin so much, though. Facts mean nothing to you guys. You just formulate a lie, and keep repeating it under the premise that others will eventually accept it as one of the accepted "facts" in a debate.
Ah yes....what would any decent white-grievance rant be without a good (i.e. ignorant) screed to end it, huh?

You just couldn't help yourself, right?

They don't teach it in k-12, they teach in college, if you take it.

Why would you ban something that isn't being taught? Just on principle and what is that principle?

What is the "real" meaning of that fear?

I'm going to come back to this - making dinner currently so I can't give it the attention I want.

Are you done making dinner yet? I'm still waiting to hear why you want to ban something that isn't being taught...

I wonder how much they had to pay the two white devils to sit there for an hour and listen to that incoherent nonsense.
I recommend this booklet. The author is very good at conveying the concept and thoroughly debunking every tenant of CRT. It's an easy short read it isn't pretentious.

And it's only $5.50

I wanted to post this question and answers session on here so that maybe some questions can be answered. It's been used as a political "hot topic" and I wasn't sure why there was so much push back on it. I think this video addresses the truth about CRT, and how it relates to all of us. You may have seen this before, but it's the first time I've seen it, and thought this was handled really well from both the question, and the answers side.
So, just a share thread. :)

Feel free to comment, but I'm not debating CRT in this thread, only discussing what it is, and why some people are uncomfortable about it.

CRT has five tenants.
1) Race was created to oppress. Colorblindness and neutrality can't fight bigotry. And supporting the current system contribute to racism.
2) examples of inequality are contributed to buy racism. And everything must be analyzed by this.
3) so called "people of color experience regular discrimination
4)CRT is interdisciplinary (intersectional)
5)CRT requires a challenge to hierarchy and seeks to eliminate racial oppression is a precursor to eliminating other types of oppression

The professor in the video seemed to ignore all tenants except for the second one.

She further tried to say this isn't taught in school. The actual tenants of the theory aren't being taught directly they are being enacted and used as a framework for teaching in public schools.

Tenant 1 is utterly debunked. The way to combat racism is not to accuse everybody and everything of racism, it actually is to be neutral or colorblind. When you don't consider someones race in any decision that means you're not racist.

Tenant 2 is absurd. We can see inequality in any hierarchy where any difference can be observed.

Tenant 3 is essentially identity politics. What it refers to is "micro aggressions" that there is some anonymous bigotry against race among the population that we aren't even aware of but it's just built into the culture. This is absurd because nobody drinks milk to express supremacy. And that's the sort of thing this is about.

Tenant 4 is easily debunked. Intersections are happenstance.

Tenant 5 is almost respectable if you don't look deeper into it. Who doesn't want to fight against oppression.

The systems we have to address this we're concocted by white people for the benefit of white people so this is a self-refuting tenant.

The professor in this video either didn't understand critical race theory and it's five tenants or she was deliberately omitting them. I think in this case it's the latter. She repeatedly said that the theory isn't being taught in schools as though anybody is making that argument it's not that the theory is being taught in schools it's that it's being applied. She knows that every proponent of this theory knows that and the people who don't don't understand what critical race theory is.

So I am of the opinion this entire 1 hour video is propaganda.

I did notice, as I wanted to comment on it.
Yeah I imagine they turn them off because they would have been criticized rightfully so for the deliberate omissions and the comment section would have lit up expressing all of these omissions by the so-called professor discrediting this entire effort that's propaganda.

Having a good understanding of critical race theory makes it painfully obvious that this video is absolutely propaganda and I think the two people who were on the opposing side are fake. You can't depose something if you don't know what it is and the professor isn't explaining everything she's actually omitting quite a bit all of the objectionable bits.

Following that logic, you would be ok with schools 'banning' CRT because it isn't being taught anyway, correct?
As soon as I saw your question, I knew the chances of anyone actually answering it were slim to none... and thus far the winner is "none".

Logic dictates that a person who truly believes that CRT is not being taught in public schools, would have no problem saying "yes" they support it being banned... Yet none of them have done so. Isn't that interesting?

.

"Well written Anti CRT Laws" is an oxymoron.

Where exactly is No 2 being taught to elementary or high school students? Specifically.
It's not being taught it's being applied that's the problem. When they say get it out of the schools they mean get the application of it out of the schools.

There seems to be some subterfuge going on here. It is technically true that they're not teaching the theory in public schools that complaints really are about the application of the tenants of the theory. It is clearly an effort to indoctrinate children into accepting this in the future and everyone that is against banning it in public schools knows this. That's actually what the ban focuses on.

It's not that they are teaching children and elementary or kindergarten is the professor in the video so stupidly set over and over, it's that there are applying the tenants to teaching these children.

For example the equity experiments. When that's quite common that seems to be rather popular currently is they'll line up all the kids and they'll say we're going to have a race and we're going to decide our starting points and if you're white take a step forward if you're male take a step forward if you grow up with both parents take a step forward so forth.

That is actually application of CRT you are seeing the tenants of it being played out by the students for a unlearning experience.

I can tell you didn't watch the video, because this is all wrong, just wrong. It's not about current oppression, it's about how the laws followed through slavery, segregation, and it's largely historical law.
I watched the video. What I saw was a couple promoting the "golly gosh, why is CRT seen as such a bad deal" position with a respondent saying "gosh...I just dont know why".

Heres the reality. The Marxists ARE in fact using CRT to promote the mindset that EVERYTHING is racist, that everything has to be viewed through the lens of racism, because everything is racist.

“in CRT, racism is seen as an inherent part of American civilization, privileging White individuals over people of color in most areas of life, including education.” The presentation also stated that “whiteness can be considered a property interest.”

In “How to be an Anti-Racist,” Kendi condemns colorblindness as a veil for racism, and says that racism is found in every point of America’s power structure and is institutionalized. He also states that “the only remedy to racist discrimination is antiracist discrimination. The only remedy to past discrimination is present discrimination. The only remedy to present discrimination is future discrimination.”

Teachers are urged to let students “apply critical lenses, such as critical race theory and Marxist theory, to the reading of news articles to allow students to think more deeply about who is being most affected and why.”

A teacher in Rhode Island was suspended and investigated because she exposed the CRT curriculum being used. "When she received her new teaching assignments for the 2021-2022 academic year, she discovered she was “pulled” from teaching one of her English classes. She wrote she was assigned, instead, to teach “using CNN news sources, as well as Time for Kids, in a course structured to rely on racial influenced articles that separate children by the color of their skin.”
Because she exposed the CRT agenda, she was of course accused of being racist.
"Everything in school now is about race. During orientation, teacher professional development included a “privilege walk,” in which teachers were requested to talk about our personal bias, to share our personal trauma, and to connect with children on their personal trauma. Much of the bias focus was on race. I declined to participate in the voluntary privilege walk, but observed it. We also were told to be surrogate parents to our students, given lesson plans on Malcolm X, and that discussions around justifiable violence towards white people should be taught to children of color."

A teacher in Indiana was also suspended and black listed from school for publicly posting the public information on the school servers that were not confidential or classified but never intended for anyone but teachers to see. The curriculum is verbatim taken from CRT texts.

And there are tons more examples. EVERYTHING is being forced through the lens of racism. Families are white culture and racist. Math is racist. The existence of police forces is nothing more than a modern day version of slave patrols.

I watched the video. What I saw was a couple promoting the "golly gosh, why is CRT seen as such a bad deal" position with a respondent saying "gosh...I just dont know why".
I'm skeptical of the couple ever really being opposed to it.
Heres the reality. The Marxists ARE in fact using CRT to promote the mindset that EVERYTHING is racist, that everything has to be viewed through the lens of racism, because everything is racist.
The marxists aren't just using CRT they created it it is a fabrication of Marxism they labeled it something else in the Frankfurt School. They just really labeled it to disguise what's really going on you can't tell the truth if you're trying to get people to accept malarkey.
“in CRT, racism is seen as an inherent part of American civilization, privileging White individuals over people of color in most areas of life, including education.” The presentation also stated that “whiteness can be considered a property interest.”
In reality the only solution that can be is absolute extermination of all white people and that is the end goal that's why Marxist socialist dictatorships always end in famine and mass death.

It's the same mistake dressed up as new and improved and all they did was maybe give you a new cup holder.
He doesn't understand the error of his statement if the only solution is anti-racist discrimination in a country that's majority White isn't that just white supremacy because it's the majority of white people doing it.

CRT is self-refuting if you know enough about it.

It was an interesting video in that this is how propaganda happens you talk about things in such a lofty fantastic way as to make people think they are more complicated than they are and in that you are able to insert some pretty sinister concepts without even being noticed.

I recommend this booklet. The author is very good at conveying the concept and thoroughly debunking every tenant of CRT. It's an easy short read it isn't pretentious.

And it's only $5.50

I'll give that a read, it seems awful difficult to debunk history. I mean, I'm curious how they prove segregation was a lie and things like that. Interesting....

Where did you find these explanations? Doesn't really relate much to CRT, so I'm curious.

CRT isn't history. It's critical theory. If suggest you learn what that means first.

You're way off here, and I'm again wondering where you're getting this shit....

Listen, CRT has to do with laws that aided racism through out history. It's not an attack on you now. You seem really hostile about this subject. Why not really try to understand it, because if you got this ^ from that video you're very creative.
