Intoxicated man arrested outside Shelburne Mountie's home | Provincial | News | Cape Breton Post
SHELBURNE, N.S. —

A Shelburne man is facing drug charges after being found intoxicated outside an RCMP officer's home.

According to a police news release, the on-duty Shelburne Mountie returned to his home and found the man on the back deck on Saturday.

The man attempted to escape but was arrested a short time later.

“Upon searching the male incidental to arrest, police located 20 grams of crack cocaine and a sum of money,” the release said. “The drugs were packaged for individual sales.”

The release also said the man told police he did not know why he chose to sit on the Mountie's back deck.

Bradley Joseph William Barron, 31, of Shelburne, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, mischief over $5,000, and two counts of resisting arrest.
