"Court Strikes Down Internet Porn Law"
PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (AP) -- A federal judge on Thursday dealt another blow to government efforts to control Internet pornography, striking down a 1998 U.S. law that makes it a crime for commercial Web site operators to let children access "harmful" material.
In the ruling, the judge said parents can protect their children through software filters and other less restrictive means that do not limit the rights of others to free speech.
"Perhaps we do the minors of this country harm if (free speech) protections, which they will with age inherit fully, are chipped away in the name of their protection," wrote Senior U.S. District Judge Lowell Reed Jr., who presided over a four-week trial last fall.

That judge deserves a ticker tape parade!

Three cheers for Judge Lowell A. Reed, Jr!

Hooray for a judge who has a brain.

Agreed, nicely done.

This is a sad topic to touch upon. Even if they made it illegal what would stop kids from going to online sites that arent made in the US? Yea not much would stop them and they would still get the porn they want, and no one can really stop a kid from watchin porn some of my friends are pretty handy with the computer.

LOL that is true who honestly cares? Its like a part of children American life, everyone i know watches porn. Some kids do it like 3 times a day.

I watch three times a day. But that's only because my collection is creme de la creme or however that saying goes. Ah, I'm just kidding. .. .

Nice "ruling". Now ensure our right to copy, our right to share, our right to record and our right to property ownership.

Hah. Yeah. No Kidding. Especially on the Copy and Property part. Especially the Property Part me being in Anaheim and hearing stories every week about Disney pushing other businesses out of the way making outrageous claims that they're breaking zoning laws. Bastards. Oh well.
