Obrador was ready to recognize the court's decision, until the ruled against him. I've listened to left wing rhetoric by my local liberal talkshowhost(Bernie Ward), and he champions the protestors in Mexico not recognizing this election and taking it to the streets. There was a piece in the Economist on this.
Obrador is undermining a fledgling democracy.. sad to see Mexico possibly spin into chaos like this.
The tribunal ruled unanimously in favor of Calderon btw.
He's trying making a state within a state, to establish a rebel gov't...
He's already lost a 1/6 of his voters due to his actions since July 2.
Now that the final decision is out he's bound to lose far more supporters..

MEXICO CITY, Sept. 5 -- Felipe Calderón, a former energy minister and onetime long-shot candidate, was unanimously declared president-elect of Mexico on Tuesday in a court decision that capped a two-month legal battle but did not end the nation's political crisis.
Calderón's opponent, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, refused to recognize the decision. During a fiery address before thousands of supporters in Mexico City's downtown square, the Zocalo, he mocked Calderón as an "illegitimate president" and pledged to create an "alternate government" to "refound the Republic and reestablish constitutional order" before the Dec. 1 presidential inauguration.

On August 28th it was revealed the result of the recount. More than 220,000 votes were annulled but Mr Calderon's lead shrank by just 4,813 -- not nearly enough to change the outcomes even if projected across 100% of the ballots.
