It certainly could happen. How would anyone know if it did? Please share your thoughts on this.

If you have any evidence to back up your theory that this could happen, I'd love to see it.

I thought there was a clause in one of the bills that absolved all officials from any crimes following 9/11/01.

...but only if the next President is as insanely partisan as some of the leftist loons here...

That doesn't change the fact that it could happen. Are you comfortable with the president being able to round up random US citizens, declare them enemy combatants, ship them off to who-knows-where, deny them access to their families and attorneys, and torture them?

The Klingons could show up tomorrow and kill us all.

If that happens, let me know. Unitl then, keep watching for the sky to fall.

Why do we need to wait for it to happen? The mere fact that it COULD happen given the way the law is currently written, should be reason enough to change it.

But hey, let's repeal the 1st amendment while we're at it. I'm sure the government would never deny us free speech.

They couldn't kill us all, William Shatner is still alive.:rofl

How would you know if it happened? That is the point. Ironically, we could be putting enemy combatants on milk cartons as missing people.:doh

Interesting that you harbor so much distrust for the givernment, but argue that the protects afforded the right to the means necessary to protect us from it is null and void.
