News comes in that European Union bureaucrats want to take the EU member states to court to get a whopping pay rise:

EU taxpayers, brace yourselves | Stephen Booth | Comment is free | guardian.co.uk

This is the equivilent of the school bully picking you up by the ankles, holding you upside down and shaking you until your dinner money falls from your pockets. This is outright cheek from the people who are supposedly there to serve all our best interests.

These are the same penpushers whose supreme overlords are the European Commisioners, bent control freaks who are typically political losers in their own countries. People like Kinnock or Brittan.

Instead of robbing the taxpayer, they should all be working to balance their own books, books which the EU auditors regularly fail to pass with clean health because most money goes missing.

The EC bunch are so bent that they fired their own whistleblower for exposing the EU's gargantuan frauds and then all 'resigned' when people complained.

They all returned to their old posts within weeks.

Nobody can explain all this away:

VIDEO TEXT:

EU member states too poor to dish out even more bloated wages to its civil servants face being SUED! This despite the fact that the European Union is already grabbing countless billions of Euros a year from its hapless citizenry.

Money which could be used to directly help nations through the recession is lost, fiddled, used to bankroll top-heavy EU centralisation and chronic wastes of resources.

...And as the full EU Superstate is still in gestation, you can be sure that we ain't seen nothing yet!

Come on.. The EU budget is a tiny 1% of GDP of nations of the EU. The EU nations tax around 35% of GDP. EU expenditure is 3% of national tax budgets, less than almost anything else.

Administrative spendings in total in the EU is 6% of EU budget, and the wages of the commission is just a slice of that again. Higher commission wages will mean nothing to any European, perhaps a couple of eurocents per year.

Thats what you get when you have a polity with no civil society to keep it in check.

Well put. I would also add that in many countries politicians and bureaucrats are not hesitant to give themselves pay raises. Here in BC we had provincial MLAs vote themselves a pay raise a while ago. Not much we could do to stop 'em.

Yeah, who doesnt love to do that? Look at Italian politicians wages for example.. Yikes..

Interesting thing is to look at different wages for politicians in the national parliaments/senates/etc also, which the EU parliament wages is based on, it reveals culture very transparently.
