The Supreme Court is about to take up the issue of tax breaks communities give to corporations to locate there. A judge in Ohio ruled the tax breaks given to Chrysler violated the Commerce Clause. If Chrysler loses, then all tax breaks for corporatons relocating in all communities will most likely be ruled illegal.
Now this is something I dont understand. Does someone want to tell me how giving a corporation a tax break to relocate in your community sets up a barrier to interstate commerce? The company still makes the product and ships it interstate. Anyone want to tackle this?
