Just read an article from September 2005 regarding Blackwater USA. As we all know our government is using private military firms more and more for various missions and security. Apparently Blackwater was seeking to gain lucrative Homeland Security contracts. Blackwater USA and other private military companies were actively engaged in providing corporate and public security in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Such contracts and activities are growing in the United States and trends indicate that PMCs (private military companies) are going to be deployed more and more in the near future to perform counter terrorism and homeland security.

I'm wondering, is this a good thing? Should we be concerned?

Here's the article I was reading. There is a definate bent to the reporting but it was interesting nonetheless.
