Clearly the cop was afraid for his safety.

I'd frikken lose it if someone did that to my kid.

Yes very disturbing, especially hearing the kid moaning after he was dropped.

I guess the taser isn't as non-lethal as has been promised. But still, less lethal than a gunshot.

Wow, so of course this kid questioned what was going on because he did nothing wrong and the cop totally escalated things from there. Good thing he is being held accountable for his actions.

The cop deserves his punishment but, according to the article, the stop was made because the plate came back to a warrant. This is one of the reasons it's a good idea to comply with basic orders such as "roll down the window" and "identify yourself". The cop only knows what the system is telling him and if it's telling him that there's a warrant tied to the vehicle you WILL be treated like a criminal until such time as you can show you are not the guy he's looking for.

In the Netherlands the police has decided to not buy and supply street officers with tasers and instead had chosen to give them extendable batons which have a great reach and more impact than regular batons. The police leadership thinks it is much easier to quickly train every police officer to use the new batons than that they can safely train all police officers to work with a taser.

This does not mean that there are no officers with tasers in the Netherlands, the special arrest units of the Dutch police do have tasers to make non-lethal arrests.

Tasers can be a good weapon if used properly and when there is a real reason to do so, in this case the officer made a bad decision and both he and the youth are paying for their choices that day. Because would he have not been able to get him out of the car with pepper spray?

What is your complaint?

As a member of the working class, shouldn't the officer receive your unconditional support, since you are a socialist?

What is your complaint?

The use of excessive force led to permanent disability of a young man.

It's nothing anyone would expect you to understand.
As a member of the working class, shouldn't the officer receive your unconditional support, since you are a socialist?

Why would a socialist support police brutality, m'am?

The use of excessive force led to permanent disability of a young man.

Then you're simply objecting to the fact that bad men exist. given this, it must simply be said that your complaint lies with reality, and it is neither within anyone's power, nor should anyone desire to, please you. Rather, the burden is on you to bring your views into line with reality.

To summarize the point, reality will not bend to your will, and never will.

Then you're simply objecting to the fact that bad men exist.

No, I'm not. What a silly thing to be dishonest about.
Thanks for admitting I answered your question, and to your pathological need to make everything about you.

What does socialism have to do with this?

What is your complaint?

A young man suffered brain damage because of a cop's pride was wounded.

Our current system of law enforcement needs to be reeled in as the officer's entire department towed the line and backed this madman. No one stepped up and ratted this cop out. No one. They had the tape, they knew what he did and they still towed the line. In fact, in nearly every public instance of police harming citizens, none of these so-called "bad cops" were exposed by their co-workers. They need to be reminded of who they work for.

The creeping has begun. First it was minorities, mostly American blacks. Now the poor of all colors are being attacked. Expect there to be even further creep of abuse.
