Convicted Child Molester Suing After Being Raped in Garfield County Jail[W:186]

I read this thread and I think of the old Pluto cartoon (which they stole in ANIMAL HOUSE with Tom Hulce and a passed out girl at a frat party) with an angel and a devil on his shoulder giving him contradictory advice. It is indeed enticing to savor the just desserts that this piece of human waste got and probably deserved at least on some very base level. But we must listen to our better angels when exercising the powers of the state and resist such evil ourselves.

The last part. The sentence was insufficient and it is being rectified by the inmates...

How could it possibly bring a smile to your face? Rape is ALWAYS disgusting.

The idea that he is getting justice can bring a smile to your face...

I would like to know how many of these prison rape proponents consider themselves 'Christians.'

Not me... I consider myself better than Christians.

Bod, the guy wants a civil suit in which he'll ask for a lot of money that he knows that he'll never get. I'm thinking after the money is off the table he'll attempt to negotiate for a 250 refill prescription of Valium to ease his anxiety while he's being raped for the next 20 years. He might want to consider negotiating for some KY to go with the Valium.

Yep... sucks to be that guy.

Yeah...truly. It'd really suck if his inmates would rape him twice on Sundays...you know to be christian about it.

Actually that would be good... think of all the praying he will be doing Sunday morning. "Please help me Lord... Please help me Lord... Please help me Lord..."

Only if the Vaseline has coarse sand in it.

The last page or so of this thread is sociopathic filth.

Absolutely. Rather than being "held" responsible, I'd prefer (and think they might too) that they were responsible enough to avoid the mess. There are plenty of truly great human beings that are poor, so enough with the excuses-if we keep silent this is what we get.

There isn't enough room as is, and selecting for the rapists would eventually get you a huge contained and pissed rapist population. What could go wrong there?

She arguing above your argument-you are saying that jail isn't voluntary. I dont think thats news to anybody-but she's discussing the "why?" to your "what".

It IS a good idea for most when using the "One strike" rule. Then they may think twice before doing it again. Yes it's enforceable, if the strike is proven.

There was much opposition from the left to 3 strikes here in CA, but it worked well-it got rid of the population who would not leave crime-at that point its time to leave society.

Still, avoiding them even being in prison (our illegal pop makes up 1 in 4 in our prisons-they should be deported) would be preferred.

You mean versus the already pissed rapist population we have now? So is your solution to let the rapists keep on raping, what could go wrong there?

I know what she's trying to argue. End of the day we are applying force to put people in prison and keep them there. The force can (and often is) legitimate, but we're still the one's putting them there. That makes us responsible for their well being. We cannot turn blind eye to abuse, crime, torture, etc. to our inmates, we are morally obligated to them since we are not animals, even if those in prison are labeled as such. We are not.

Suppose short eyes says to his cell mate: "I'm going to sue the State and the prison for having been raped by you three times. Just say that you didn't do it. Don't say anything else and I'll split the money with you."

The fact that you think a prison should work like this makes me sick.

Meh, I think it was funny. Comedy is born of tragedy. Still there is an element of truth to it. Common knowledge is that if you molest children and go to prison, you will not be treated kindly as other prisoners are often parents as well. Perhaps that should serve as a deterrent. But it appears not to...

Or maybe they are in love and need money for their honeymoon.

It could be that. Or anything. Once you become a ward of the State, it won't take long to figure out that gaming the system from the inside is easier. You have all that time to work on it.
