There is an ugly breed of capitalists who think the way to make money is to screw other people. They are very conservative in their politics and they rely on legal corruption to support a government that just looks the other way at their socially destructive profiteering.

Any corporation with assets is fair game under this system to be bought out and liquidated. Everything the company built is sold off and all the workers lose their jobs and incomes.

It's all perfectly legal. Conservatives would do nothing about it. "Too much regulation," they cry along with comments like: "Keep government out of business," and "Less government is always better."

Nonsense, I say!

That is ugly greedy BS. Part of government's purpose is to promote the general welfare and this ugliness is the opposite. We need a strong and powerful government that makes reasonable laws to prevent greedy people from destroying the lives of others who work hard to be productive for America.

The last thing we need is to shut down manufacturing, kill jobs, and promote more reliance on foreign products and supply chains while ballooning the trade deficit.

If any Bernie or AOC like politician proclaimed we need to write more laws and increase government regulation, Republicans and conservative Democrats would be flat against it. That is because they are looking out for the richest and they don't care about everyday working Americans like Bernie and AOC do.

We need to see the big picture, be well informed, and support the politicians who are really looking out for working America.

And Tax The Rich!

The rich do not pay enough taxes.

Conservatives want to believe (wrongly) that capitalism is all healthy and wonderful, and engine of ingenuity. They rarely wish to admit that capitalism has it's downside.

Government is the only thing which stands between vulture capitalism and We, The Victims.

Conservatives would just look the other way.

Once you're rich, you don't have to care about the poor.

Wanting to keep what you have earned is natural. Everyone wants that but everyone needs to understand that a big fancy government does not come free. It has to be paid for, and obviously the need is there. Tax the rich.

I never heard of a rich man taxed into poverty.

A rich man is rich before he pays taxes, and he is still rich after his taxes are paid.

KKR & Co. Inc., also known as Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., is an American global investment company that manages multiple alternative asset classes, including private equity, energy, infrastructure, real estate, credit, and, through its strategic partners, hedge funds.

Honest conservatives make money the old fashioned way. The earn it.

Greedy capitalists can't be bothered to do the hard work that earns money. They just find some quasi legal way to steal wealth from others. And then they champion any corrupt conservative politician who supports letting the theft go on.

Capitalism is healthy, wonderful, and an engine of ingenuity. It also has its downsides, but compared to all other economic systems — e.g. socialist Marxism — it remains vastly superior to any other yet devised by man.

The economy is not a jobs program.

Did you teach economics, too?
No, I didn't. Did you ever finish high school and understand economics in an interdependent society?

Where is it written that we have to choose between capitalism and socialism?

The best system would incorporate the best of each and attempt to minimize the worst of each.

Funny thing. That is exactly want is meant by Democratic Socialism.

No, it is not. That is why government must step in to make sure people do have a job if they want it. Because greedy capitalists only create jobs if it helps them get richer. And then they resent it and try to eliminate as many as possible. Such a hassle, employing people and using them as a means to great wealth...

And what do the entities that BUY these sell offs do with them? The assets don't disappear.

Capitalism: come into town, set up operations, employ some people, watch as a community is created, then pull out and leave a mess with everybody wondering what it was all for.

Just ask Detroit.

They get 'em at bargain prices. Maybe some jobs are extended for a while as things are packaged up to be shipped out. Maybe they even go overseas. Must really suck to have a life working a machine, knowing every part of it, faithfully caring for it, and then have to box it up and see it dissappear down the road on your last day of work.

Well then, you've left me in somewhat of a bind. I must now decide whose are the views of an economic simpleton, Thomas Sowell's or yours.

I promise I'll give that quandary all the consideration it's due and get back to you with an answer as soon as possible.

Many times new management comes in and revamps things in place. Fact is if the company was sold at a "bargain price" it was probably on the verge of shutting down anyway.
