"Disney, like all big corporations, is far from infallible and not immune from criticism. If Florida’s Republicans want to criticize the company and call for boycotts, that’s absolutely within their rights — they’ve got free speech rights too — but they can’t honestly claim to be conservatives and continue pushing for a punitive repeal of RCID when it isn’t likely to stand up in court, will waste countless millions of dollars on unnecessary litigation and bureaucracy, and will wreak untold havoc on local government budgets and the state tourism industry."

Good article. Covers a lot of bases.

I like how the dates for this change of status are set to start after the next election, because, you know, it's the principle of the thing.

Excellent read. Yes, it's long, but it's excellent.

HB 3C’s House sponsor, State Rep. Randy Fine (R), admitted on Wednesday he had not met with anyone from Disney, RCID, or Orange or Osceola County government to discuss the impact that repealing RCID might have before putting the bill forward.

Just post the revenge porn on the internet without thinking about the ramifications. Good one, Randy.

Do you think they care about costs if it gives them the feeling of 'owning the libs'?

Of course they are ignoring it. Conservatives have never been able to see past their own noses.

I'll have to save the tab and read later, but I can guess. They're basically threatening to cut their dicks off to spite (own) the libs (libtards).

GO FOR IT, FLORIDA MAN!

The House passed it.

Why would it go to court? What's illegal about getting rid of it?

Where I grew up in South GA has a lore about how Disney initially was going to build there but were run off by local big biz who didn't want the competition that would make them have to compete with higher wages. Now "Wild Adventures" theme park is there. Park used in Zombieland movie. I'd bet now-a-days, the locals might reconsider allowing Disney to move there if Deathsantis doesn't want them in Florida anymore.

There's a bunch of tax liabilities that are going to stop getting funded, as Disney was basically taxing its own operations to pay for certain things like fire and police services. That cost is going to get taken up by neighboring counties.
