Why should we name our military bases after losers?
What is it exactly that you want the 'decent, intelligent liberal and conservative voters" to vote on?Read what I wrote again. Jeebus.
The decent, intelligent liberal and conservative voters know that if they allow the racists to force the change in one backwards district, others will follow. They're the ones that control how a state's public ed tax dollars are spent. And that's where the school board's salaries come from.
I cannot believe that you need a diagram to understand this.
What is more astonishing is that posters here don’t believe in time.Yea, its astonishing how Democrats assiduously skip over Woodrow Wilson to go back another fifty some years to pillory some barefoot, Johnny Reb who owned no slave, and whose only crime was putting loyalty to State above loyalty to Union

You're being purposefully vague... likely because you know you don't have an argument. Why not follow the arrows back so you understand the conversation?

We should name them after people who fought for our founding principles such as equality and liberty.
The same principles the troops living in those bases are fighting for today.
What makes you think that’s what they are “fighting” for? They fight for the Warhawks and the military industrial complex. The same principles the troops living in those bases are fighting for today.
Yep. And I’m proud of it.Ex Confederates, sons and daughters of ex Confederates have, and continue to serve in the United States Armed Forces. The United States is a big tent![]()
Secessionist conservatives? There's a brazen oxymoron. Funny how Democrats never manage to work up the courage to face up to their party's heritage of slavery and segregation.Democrats in the mid 1800s and early 1900s were deeply conservative. Funny how Republicans never manage to work up the courage to face that fact.

But why bother with history when the new Pravda media covers the ludicrous smears of secessionist conservatives without question. But don't worry, Kim Jung Biden carries forth the Republicans racist propaganda with lies like President Trump supported the white supremacists at Charlottesville. As a candidate Biden claimed this was his primary reason for running. It's an often repeated falsehood included in current campaign ads. Never mind that even Snopes rates the statement false just keep on parroting.

No, Trump Did Not Call Neo-Nazis and White Supremacists 'Very Fine People'
However, the accuracy of what Trump did claim – that there were "very fine people on both sides" of the 2017 Unite the Right debacle – is in question.www.snopes.com
According to history Democrat Confederates in 11 states seceded from the Union. How could you not be aware of this fact?
According to who? Conservatives to this day still cling to secessionist fantasies. Tens of thousands of them wanted to secede when Obama got re-elected.
Republicans being fundamentally far too cowardly to face the historical facts does not make them go away.

Claiming that Conservatives as a group fantasize about secession is nonsense.

Not a word about the blatant contradiction of so-called conservative Democrats leading the secessionist movement. Nearly half the states at the time tried to leave the Union. Breaking up the US is the polar opposite of conservatism.According to history the Democratic Party of the time was incredibly conservative, and remained so for decades. They defended Jim Crow by accusing its opponents of being “communists” and “Russian agents”. How could you not be aware of that fact?
This is from a 2012 story on secession petitions received on White House.gov
Dude, there were petitions with tens of thousands of signatures. Blind denial can’t change that.

Democrats defended segregation with false accusations? Say it ain't so. Democrats are doing the same thing today claiming Trump is a Russian asset and anyone who questions the Ukrainian crusade is a Putin lover. That doesn't make the Democrats contemporary or past Conservatives by any means.

"Secession petitions from all 50 states have been originated, according to the Chicago Tribune. Citizens have requested that the administration "peacefully grant" them the opportunity to form their own sovereign government."
Wow, that's equivalent to Democrat Confederate states launching a military campaign to leave the Union. Darn those Conservative rebels. Ridiculous.
I take issue with your notion that the Confederates 'GOT THEIR ASSES KICKED'Why on earth do people want to commemorate one of the stupidest blunders in history? The Confederate States of America was formed in 1861 and the one and only thing they did was embark on a war that got them obliterated. Was there ever a dumber mistake? It's like the founders of the country sat around a table and said, "How can we royally **** this up? What's the stupidest thing we could do?"
And now a bunch of their intellectual equals want to memorialize those idiots.
Because the Mt. Rushmore of military leaders born on American soil all came from the south & the battles that put them there were:Why should we name our military bases after losers?

The last battle before Lee came north was called by all historians 'Lee's perfect battle' it is one the the
3 civil war battles considered as one of the top 25 tactical victories in all warfare.
After Chancellorsville Lee led his army north flush with confidence. Men with common
customs & a common faith consistently victorious against always superior numbers.
They had as solid a faith in their leader as any veteran army that ever marched!
But there was one man missing his 'right arm'. Instead of Thomas Jackson leading his corp,
that corp was split into two parts one lead by lead by Ewell the other by Hill.
IMO Lee would have gladly given up his magical victory at Chancellorsville if
he still had Jackson marching north with him. After all Jackson was instrumental
in all of Lee's finest campaigns.
Imagine if Lee had Jackson at Gettysburg & along with Jackson he was able to rescue Forrest
from the western theatre to ride along with the Army of Northern Virginia.
It's not hard to think Lee had Forrest on his mind as after his surrender,
when asked by a Union Officer who he thought his greatest general was,
General Robert E. Lee replied, 'Sir, a gentleman I have never had the pleasure to meet,
General Nathan Bedford Forrest.' The outcome may have been much different if this threesome
could have fought the pivotal battle together
The war was not expected to last (4) years. The Union had far more troops and superior weaponry.I take issue with your notion that the Confederates 'GOT THEIR ASSES KICKED'

Many overlook the significance of the battle in the Western theatre at Ft Donelson Feb 1862. The union ultimately gained control in the west of the Nashville rail line that was a major west/east supply routs for the CSA.
If not for tactical blunders by Floyd and Pillow, Grant would have had to use the surrender letter he prepared after his previous day of defeat.
ADM Foote's ironclads were significantly damaged and sent drifting back north to Cairo Ill..
The loss at Ft Donelson sealed the CSA's fate 2 months later at the Battle of Shiloh.
Grant would have been sent back to MO where he came from had he lost at Donelson and would have never been.
It was a war of attrition.
What was your GPA with a double major?A bit early in her career for schools to be named after AOC, don’t you think?
