A manhunt was underway in California early Sunday after two Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies were shot in their patrol car Saturday by a suspect who “opened fire without warning or provocation,” authorities said.

The deputies, a 24-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, were both in critical condition and “fighting for their lives” as they underwent surgery following the attack, which occurred around 7 p.m. local time outside a Metro rail station in Compton, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

A local faith leader who came to the hospital to pray for the deputies, told a KABC reporter that some of the protesters had been shouting slogans like "Death to police!

What kind of stupid takeaway from what I said is that? My point was in response to yours. How would more gun laws have prevented this, when IF they was prohibited from buying legally, it isn't even difficult to obtain a gun, and more gun laws will never change that. Meanwhile, more peaceful protesters chanting they hope the young mother and young man die, while their families sit inside. And you will defend it. You already are. It's like a kneejerk reaction.

The cops that got ambushed weren't doing anything. They were just sitting in their squad some punk walked up and shot them. Then more punks showed up at the hospital to protest the fact that the cops were being treated.
