WASHINGTON (AP) -- Comedian Al Franken has reached out to Democratic lawmakers from Minnesota in recent days, seeking advice on a possible Senate run against Republican Sen. Norm Coleman next year.

Franken, a veteran of "Saturday Night Live" and radio show host, told The Associated Press on Wednesday that he's called all of the Democrats in the delegation.

"I didn't call Coleman," he deadpanned. "I want to mainly touch base and get advice and counsel on certain issues."...

Franken would be the first weird governor since....... Jesse Ventura.

No doubt about it. The folks in Minnesota march to a different drummer. Must be a jazz drummer too. LOL. :)
 
Franken isn't electable. If the Democrats want to win back that Senate seat in 2008, they'll nominate a serious candidate.

How would Franken's running for office have anything to do with Limbaugh?
 
I believe the point is that the someone that Franken hates is Limbaugh. I think the gloating that would happen if Franken won is based on Limbaugh's mutual hate for Franken. I was trying to point out the dots you're supposed to connect.

Bullet would probably have bounced off his fat ***. The viet con would have needed to aim for the guys head - no, I take it back, too small a target. Well our side could've used him as a shield. At least that way his fat *** would've served for something other than the uselessness it serves now. But then his fat *** might just save us all in the future as an alternative energy source.
Headline - US energy needs met off of Limbaugh's hot air ***.
 
I just don't understand the original poster's line of thinking. I don't see any reason why Franken's running for office is some victory over Rush Limbaugh. Rush is a broadcaster, not a politician. He doesn't even claim to be. How is Franken, who failed at Rush's profession, going to ruffle Limbaugh's feathers by running for office. It doesn't correlate.

No evidence he hates him and Limbaugh would probably LOVE to have Franken in the the Senate, his "stack of stuff" would grow exponentially. If would be hilarious.

Geez is Franken really the best they can do?

I heard Cindy Sheehan might run in California...She and Franken would make a great pair.............
