I know they have no shot, but Army is the team I follow. They were ranked 28th last week and slipped to 32nd even though they were off this week. IIRC they finished 25th last year.

When I was a kid decades ago Army was always in the top ten. Arnold Galiffa, Pete Vann, Dan Folberg, Bob Anderson,
Pete Dawkins I haven't forgotten. Trump was mentioning the possibility of Army & Navy players being allowed to go pro
right after graduation if that happened maybe we'll see Army or Navy in the top ten again.
I disagree; I remember when the US only sent “amateur” athletes to the Olympics. we were able to hold our own and then someone suggested that professional athletes should be allowed to attend, money is the root.....
Staubach was an example, David Robinson was allowed a shorter commitment. There are others that escape my addled brain right now.
David Robinson was deemed ''not physically qualified as an unrestricted line officer in the United States Navy.'' too tall to serve on ships
or airplanes! So he was required to serve only two years of active duty. That afforded him the possibility of becoming a first-round draft
choice in June for any team willing to wait two years.
Ever since Army's idolized Heisman winning Glenn Davis was denied permission to resign from the Army in 1947, all NFL prospects
had to serve their full term of service. That is why ever since big money from the NFL began to flow into top players hands around
1960 Army never was able to recruit top players and have never been in the top ten since.
Consider probably the greatest athlete in the 3 major sports was Arnold Galiffa of Army. Galiffa was the All-American QB in 1949 & came in 4th
in the Heisman Voting. He led Army to a record of 17-0-1 in his Junior and Senior years when Army was ranked 6th & 4th in the nation
respectively. He was captain of the Army Basketball team and as Armies star 1st baseman he was on the Cover of LIFE magazine May 1949
in his baseball garb, LIFE along with Look & Time was the top magazine of his era.
He was the only 11 letterman in the 3 major sports in the history of West Point.
After after being wooed by 26 other colleges including Notre Dame he made his trek to West Point. If a talent like Galiffa were to have
been a high school senior last year instead of 1945 there would be no chance at all that West Point could now land a player of that caliber.
That's why I if Trump mentioning the possibility of Army & Navy players being allowed to go pro
right after graduation actually happens maybe we'll see Army or Navy in the top ten again.
