Coast Guard head: Service members relying on food pantries 'unacceptable'

January 25 will be 2 paychecks missed by CG personnel. Doesn't Trump realize, or even care that these people have families? Trump/McConnell need to end their government shutdown today.

Of course it's unacceptable, and anyone with a functioning brain knows this.

Trump, and his supporters, don't give a rat's ass about people who serve this country. Once upon a time, my brethren on the right supported anyone who served. Not anymore.

I have 3 sons, and if there was any chance of my husband or me encouraging them to serve, that went out the window when the droolers elected Trump. When we elect his replacement, we will encourage them again.

Why is the Coast Guard funding not tied in with DOD spending? They are essentially a Naval adjunct and service with them is considered military service as I recall. As far as ending the shut down? Absolutely not. Keep it going till 2020 or better yet just layoff all of the unfunded workers.
