I suspect the GOP Elites did a state poll and found that he doesn't have enough support to warrant using him in their splitter strategy.New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, a frequent Republican critic of former President Donald Trump, said Monday in an exclusive interview with CNN’s Dana Bash that he will not seek the party’s 2024 presidential nomination.
“We’ve taken the last six months to really kind of look at things, where everything is. And I’ve made the decision not to run for president on the Republican ticket in 2024,” Sununu told Bash.
Sununu’s decision further defines the GOP’s 2024 field and means there won’t be a home-state contender in New Hampshire, leaving the Republican contest in the first-in-the-nation primary state wide open.
That’s too bad. I thought he would be a good candidate and was interested in what his national policy ideas were.
Criticizing Trump does not result in a viable run to the GOP nomination. Why should Sununu bother. He has however served a function. Any doubt about Trump's continuing hold on the GOP should not be in doubt.New Hampshire Gov. Now that I think about it, the only Dif between Christie and Sununu is that Sununu still has a governor's mansion. But Sununu has flip flopped on Trump as often as Christie has.I think he realizes Trump will be the nominee, which is so ridiculous and shameful on so many levels.
I suspect kind of the same - about polling tests not showing any hope.I suspect the GOP Elites did a state poll and found that he doesn't have enough support to warrant using him in their splitter strategy.

When running for his current term as governor Sununu said he "is a Trump guy through and through". Does Sununu sound like a Trump guy at all now?
"on the Republican ticket" may be the key words here.New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, a frequent Republican critic of former President Donald Trump, said Monday in an exclusive interview with CNN’s Dana Bash that he will not seek the party’s 2024 presidential nomination.

Bingo.........very interesting choice of words"on the Republican ticket" may be the key words here.
(Sorry Callen, didn't see your post)
Hogan-Sununu 2024 would be a VERY strong third-party ticket.Interesting wording..
"I’ve made the decision not to run for president on the Republican ticket in 2024"
I wonder if the No Label Party may be wooing him. My understanding is he is close to Hogan who is the co-chair of the party.

Larry Hogan won't close the door on third-party presidential bid in 2024
Former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, R, declined to close the door to a third-party bid after he said Sunday that he would not seek the 2024 GOP nomination.abcnews.go.com
With respect to Hogan, I think that is not exactly true. He had bad phrasing in an interview which he promptly corrected. He's been pretty vocally and consistently anti-Trump.I don't see it that way. Both of these idiots have recently said they would vote for Trump if he is the GOP candidate in 2024.
Nope, I'll definitely pass on these MAGA lite imbeciles.
“Yeah, I just don’t think [Trump will] be the nominee, but I’ll support the nominee,” Hogan said, after being prodded by Hewitt about his evasiveness on the question.
Hogan later walked back the comments on Twitter, saying he would not commit to supporting Trump if he were the nominee. Instead, he said he would support the nominee, who he doesn’t think will be Trump.
“To be clear, my position on Trump hasn’t changed. Trump won’t commit to supporting the Republican nominee, and I won’t commit to supporting him,” Hogan said on Twitter.
A member of Hogan’s team told The Hill earlier that Hogan’s position on Trump, who he has not supported in the past, has not changed and his promise to support the nominee is contingent on him believing it won’t be Trump.
The admission that he would support Trump in 2024 is a shift for the former Maryland governor, who in 2020 wrote in former President Reagan after concluding he couldn’t support either Trump or President Biden.

You too? We should probably go get some coffee, because after I announced I wasn't running last week I have a lot of free time.I’ve decided against running this cycle, too!
The problem they both have is a lack of national name recognition, especially with a field as crowded as it’s looking to be.Hogan-Sununu 2024 would be a VERY strong third-party ticket.

But as a third party ticket, they’d only be running against Trump and Biden, and I’m not sure their name recognition is a positive. The problem they both have is a lack of national name recognition, especially with a field as crowded as it’s looking to be.
