I read the article..this is not what happened at all.
Why do you do this? Just constant think people aren't gonna read the actual context and trust your version of events which you always filter for your agenda.

They couldn't just have the senate install Trump. That's not how it works without breaking laws.

The texts are from Nov 5.
The story is about events between Tues Nov 3 and Sat Nov 7 when the networks called the election.

It's not surprising in the least given that Trump was positioning to call the last two presidential elections fraudulent and launched an investigation into the one he won because he didn't feel like he got enough votes.

That is the correct analysis of the story.
The story goes on to talk about how they pushed this strategy after the networks called for Biden.

And the plan went nowhere-- and was never going to go anywhere.

There is no way on earth all those details, plans and thoughts were formulated and communicated in one or two days. Even Jr's lawyer said many of those emails dated the 5th were forwarded by others. Let's wait until Eastmans emails and texts get mapped to Donnie's and I am certain we will find these plans were being hatched well in advance of the 3rd.....but you hold on to your defense of those who would destroy democracy for their own personal gain.

The idea was to figure out a way for state legislatures to directly choose their own electors.
The problem with is that there are state laws governing how their respective states choose their electors.
And the state legislatures have all passed laws since the 19th century that say that the candidate who wins the most popular vote wins the electors.

True-- the theory Trump was using rests upon the Constitutional assertion that state legislatures decide how their state electors will be chosen.
And the subsequent idea that the state could just ignore their own state law -- given that the federal constitution supercedes state law.

But if the state legislature chose to do this, they would be sued by the Biden folks. And there is a federal deadline for the electors to be cast-- which the state legislature can do nothing about.
Its an interesting academic theory. But it has no basis in reality.
You guys really need to chill out here.

And its not as if these kind of things have never been litigated before. In the Gore efforts of 2000 to destroy democracy, Justice Thomas pointed out in his concurrent opinion that the Florida courts were trying to tell the Florida legislature how to appoint the state's electors, which as mentioned above, is unconstitutional.

So its not as if this kind of stuff is brand new.

The article tells a story that before the election was called for Biden, the Trump folks were trying to formulate a plan if in fact the election was called for Biden.
But we already kind of knew that. And the story doesn''t say anything different.
It just whips you guys up into a frenzy.

Yeah-- AFTER the election.
Defeated candidates are allowed to object to their defeat. Its actually part of the law.
Its not an assault upon democracy when it does occur.

So you have that

well Trump was saying the election of 2016 was " Rigged " way before it was even held.
So if it WAS rigged and he won shouldn't they be looking into that?
He won it was rigged Trump even said so
so it must have been rigged in his favor and he seems to have had prior knowledge of it so he must have been involved in rigging it
and now he is crying that the 2020 was rigged but this time he lost.
I guess in his eyes the Gov. should only look into the election he lost that was rigged and NOT into the one he won that was rigged

Ok-- so Trump said that if he lost it would be proof the election would be rigged. So what?
We have people running around yelling 'voter suppression' as an excuse should they lose.
Same kind of nonsense.

I have no idea what you are talking about with respect to the Senate choosing the President.
The House does that if no candidate receives half the electoral votes.

Yes-- you had said "senate' twice.
First time=mistake on your part. I ignored it
second time=what are you talking about.

As I indicated elsewhere, the only way to pull this whole thing off is that:
1. The state legislatures (5) were all in session (they weren't)
2. The state legislatures (5) were all willing to have a vote to change who their electors were allocated to (and as some of these 5 were controlled by Democrats, its hard to imagine they would be willing to do this).
3. The vote would all be to switch the vote
3. The legal challenges to these efforts by the Biden people in these states were heard and defeated

And it all had to occur by the mid December.
It was preposterous.
You guys need to chill out.
