CNN analyst blames Trump for aftermath of Will Smith-Chris Rock Oscars incident

CNN pundit asked, 'are we getting an independent psychological case study on how Trump got normalized?'

snip

CNN’s Asha Rangappa decided the Dolby Theater crowd stuck around because of Trump.

"So did like anyone walk out after that happened??? Or are we getting an independent psychological case study on how Trump got normalized?" Rangappa asked on Twitter.

Rangappa was swiftly mocked for blaming Trump for the incident.

CNN famously drifted away from its once-nonpartisan style to an anti-Trump, liberal network under former boss Jeff Zucker, who was forced to step down earlier this year. Incoming boss Chis Licht is expected to attempt to steer the network back toward the just-the-facts approach to news that founder Ted Turner intended.

Rangappa, who is one of the network’s more outspoken liberals on social media, was mocked last year for comparing a Southwest pilot who objected to President Biden to an ISIS sympathizer. A pilot on a Southwest flight from Houston to Albuquerque signed off his announcement for passengers by saying, "Let's Go Brandon," according to an Associated Press journalist who was reportedly on the flight.

You do realize that CNN, like any other 24/7 cable news channel, spends a lot of their time with panel discussions, right? The point is that just because one panelist says something does not mean that it is representative of the whole network*.

* Unless that network is Fox, in which case, yeah, it probably is.

She is a paid analyst/comentator she is not CNN and any link she, as an individual, is trying to link this incident to Trump that is a real stretch.

Of course... Trump is the left's go to move because they see what's coming and have nothing substantive to put forth.

.

I am laughing while making this post. Honestly, God help us as a nation..

We've got real shit going on in the world and everybody's fussing about one man slapping another man without drawing a drop of blood. Then some nobody ad-libs a stupid line on CNN. And then we get people running to an anonymous political debate forum to rage about the stupid line about the stupid slap, as if doing that is somehow better than the stupid line or the stupid slap.

I can believe that you are laughing. The question is whether it's at the right thing...

Hey, did you see the typical vile attacks this Rangapappa person received after Fox sounded its attack whistles? You know, demands that she commit suicide and the like? Classy stuff. Get a load of it in the link on post #8.

Kinda ironic, y'know. If someone says the person you worship lowered the civility bar and you get mad, you probably don't want to immediately do the most uncivil thing you can think of. I'm not surprised they don't see it.

Well, Trump did tell the idiots who support him that he likes to see men body slam each other.

No I have not seen that but not surprising. Both sides do the crazy attacks and death threats. I honestly don't watch much of CNN. Lately, I can't even watch the news for long.

Hey, @Spunkylama. Can you save us all some time and clarify whether this is the quality of thread to expect from you?

That's a really bizarre correlation Rangappa makes which I don't see at all. I'm not sure why she would expect people to walk out either, or how that's an indicator of how Trump got normalized. Now if the crowd cheered and egged on the conflict, then maybe, but even that's a stretch since Trump didn't invent crass crowds.

Agree 100%. Let's be real there is a lot you can blame Trump for but this is just over the top.

Oh look, standard stupid tactics prevalent in today. one person make a dumb comment, people act like it represents the entire network, or is some evidence of how its a popular opinion. Or claims there is mass outrage because a few people expressed some on twitter. That's what is is these days, there aren't many real controversies, most are just people playing victim and persecution and pretending a handful of people's stupid opinion means it must be outrage and a scandal

70 Millino people voted for Trump, if you need a sign of how stupid and shitty the country has become, that high amount is evident of widespread deplorabalism

.
Ohferchristsake.
Yeah, that's right, that one CNN talking head that nobody heard of before today represents 'the left'.
How pathetically simplistic can you get?

That’s a fine example of a (slightly?) partisan double standard. ;)

Our friends on the left here seem to spend a great deal of time in threads they claim are pointless. One can only wonder why they do that.
