CNN —
When Diesel the donkey ran away on a hike near his home outside Sacramento, California, five years ago, his owners assumed the worst.
--Years passed without a sign of life from Diesel — until earlier this year, when a hunter spotted and filmed a herd of at least a dozen elk in the northern California wilderness. Among them, strangely, was a wild burro.
That's so cute!!!
Great story, great video....thanks for bringing it here.(CNN) A pet donkey disappeared in California five years ago. He’s been spotted living with a herd of wild elk

'No', this is not "hard" news. But it is a "feel good" story that I just couldn't resist posting. I think these animals might be able to teach us humans a thing or two about getting along despite our differences!
Enjoy!
That makes me want to write a Disney story!!Yeah, after watching the video I couldn't (resist posting it).
He (the donkey) seems to be acting as something of a leader to the herd. How about that?
Great story, great video....thanks for bringing it here.
Awww! Just another reason to reinforce my love of animals over humans.....
That makes me want to write a Disney story!!
Anybody spot a Delk?
Or a Elkey?
Hmmm, a donkey leading the herd. I'll take that as an omen for Nov

Happy that you did! We see all kinds of unusual but heartwarming things here in CA. Love it!
I've only recently been realizing just how rural northern California is. It's not all the Summer of Love!
I was about to post that.GMTA.Hmmm, a donkey leading the herd. I'll take that as an omen for Nov

I volunteered at a huge rescue ranch, mostly horses but they had minis, farm animals, and donkeys. The donkey's personalities were the best.Donkeys are very social animals, and sometime used as companions for twitchy thoroughbreds. They're none threatening and bond with many other species.
What do you mean not "all"?
Um dude, do you realize how big California is?
The entire state is a wonderland. It truly is.
No turning back for this Midwesterner.
