Clinton releases devastating anti-Trump ad

It might help Trump, but only with the people who already support him. I think it will do a great deal of harm to him among the majority of republicans who support "insiders" though.
I'm starting to come around to the idea that for all of the "never Trump" bluster that is happening right now, when it comes time to actually pull the lever, many of these people are going to plug their noses and pull the lever for Trump. Maybe they won't but I think it's far more likely that they will given the alternatives.

Thus far his opponents have pretty much tried everything to take him down and he's only gotten stronger. I don't know what else Hillary has up her sleeve but adds like this aren't going to even make a dent, IMO.

As far as the lesser of two evils, Trump may be it. At least he has some business experience, whereas Hillary, she is...the wife of a former Prez, a cheated woman who, ever so calculating stood by her man, a insignificant secretary of state and one who because senator because of her last name.
If someone held a gun to my head, I may choose Trump over death. As long as that will not be the case, anyone else but these 2 will do.

I won't.

If you think you have seen real mudslinging in past elections, think again. There is going to be more mud thrown this year than all other election years combined. Me? I will be breaking out the beer and popcorn, and enjoy watching Trump and Clinton destroy each other. Another year for Democrats and Republicans, and one small step closer to Third Party voting meaning something.

Go Gary Johnson!!

Article is here.

Hardly devastating.

I have committed to Gary Johnson. The Trump University stuff put it over the top for me. The guy is a predator.

probably so but people like you might be responsible if we have two more far left childless lesbians who hate capitalism gun rights and other values that conservatives cherish on the supreme court

He's a predator, pretty much the same way that many uber rich people are. No one actually "makes" a billion dollars, they just transfer that wealth from the people who do produce wealth.

SC appointments are a huge thing to consider, I'll give you that. But at the end of the day I just can't bring myself to cast a vote for him. Can't do it.

I see the big picture-the bad hair day is an asshole. But for district and C/A judges we will get the same thing from Trump as we would from Kasich or Bush or Christie-people that the party leaders in the relevant states nominate to the president. Now Cruz might have been more active in trying to get true believers in the CoA slots all around the country. and Trump might not be as respectful of say the advice of the Federalist Society that Cruz, Rubio and even Kasich would be. But Trump isn't going to appoint far left gun hating socialists like Hilary will. and that is where a president can do the most lasting damage. We are STILL suffering from the problems caused by the late 30s, early 40s idiocy of the FDR courts.

Yeah. We need more solid Justice Souters. Can you imagine how devastating it would have been if we hadn't had Justice Kennedy and Justice Roberts on the Marriage and Obamacare cases? Why, the left would have won.

It's a good thing that Donald Trump has demonstrated the wisdom, judgment, and acumen to make good SCOTUS appointments, while avoiding the temptation to "make deals".

I don't know why it is so important for one side or the other to "WIN". If our SCOTUSes uphold the law, interpret the law to its fullest extent, we all win. Sometimes we like it, sometimes we don't. But our constitution isn't only for one side or the other, or whether we agree with it or not. At least imho.

Here is the fact

Some GOP appointees-especially "Stealth" candidates to get through the Bork era DEm senate, ended up being lefties or in Roberts case-a guy who wants to be seen as clever. People didn't know that Souter was going to get pissy over the anti gay agenda of the Bush administration and retaliate

but the other fact is this-the DEM appointees are generally monolithic when it comes to major issues that are split down party lines. You know damn well Quotamayor and Kagan are not going to vote against Obama Care, gun bans or other major and seminal issues. so if you have a GOP appointee HE MIGHT not vote the way his sponsors hoped. If you have a DEM APPOINTEE you know damn well they WILL VOTE as their sponsor wants on the big issues

Well, the sides disagree on the "law" - one side arguing for Originalism, another arguing for Living Document theory. So, that's sorta the rub.

Okedoke. So I get to exchange a liberal for a probably-liberal, and the price for that is that I have to sign on to an administration that would wreck conservatism, wreck the party, wreck the economy, wreck our foreign policy, and destroy the chances of achieving conservative reform for decades.

No thanks. :) I'd rather masturbate with a cheese grater.

Big old "meh" to the ludicrous title. And this is coming from a big time Trump detractor. This isn't an effective ad in the least. Why?

1. No target audience. Is it aimed at Republicans and trying to turn them away from Trump? If so, it's ineffective, given the fact that they were the ones most plugged into the REPUBLICAN primary in the first place so these attacks on Trump aren't magically "new". If it's aimed at Democrats, the ones that Trump is likely to sway over likely don't give a **** what the likes of Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio or a guy named Bush has to say about Trump. If it's aimed at independents, again it's questionable based on the Democratic narrative that has been pushed so much that independents don't like republicans.

2. Nearly every single one of those people in that ad have sat there and intimated in some fashion that despite all the horrible things about Donald Trump, he'd STILL be a better candidate than Hillary. Basically letting this commercial be "This is how bad they think he is....and they think Hillary is EVEN WORSE".

I disagree. Probably the thinking of the Clinton campaign is to keep the neverTrump movement alive and kicking. Don't let them fade in to the background or forget about the primary.

Almost no political ad deserves to be called "devastating", but I think this one in the big scheme of things is a good idea by Clinton.

It reminded me of the "Confessions of a Republican" bit that was going around a while back.

I have been saying all year long that Trump has given the Clinton campaign more than enough material to run the most effective negative ad campaign against him since at least LBJ destroyed Goldwater in 64. Anyone that thinks Trump won't lose in a landslide come November is delusional. Hell even without the negative ads he still would be facing the fact that he is demographically unelectable. He has to get 40% of the Hispanic vote to win. He won't even get 10% of it.

normally, i would agree with you about this
but assuming hillary is the opposition, she will get out the vote ... for tRump
too bad one must cast a vote FOR a candidate, because if we could tally the votes AGAINST, the AGAINST votes would prevail

Exactly. They are to interpret the law without bias, or to hand the win to one side or the other. They are to interpret regardless.

Hit the nail right on the head. The Donald is dead meat, the DNC and Hillary Clinton thanks the GOP for their excellent choice in candidates.

i am loving all of the leftists on this site thinking they have this thing in the bag

maybe they do....

i dunno....but crazy things happen in the political arena

and you all seem to be counting your chickens before the eggs are even laid.....

going to be a lot of people eating a lot of crow come november if in November things dont go as you think they will

I love how when someone points out the reality of a situation that others ASSUME that that person is happy with the eventual outcome. Pssst, we are Scr*wed either way, Homer. Enjoy your crow in November.

Leftist nor rightist will win, but only Clinton or Trump.

that's a great reference to voting for a third party

Trump is the darling of the media. They love giving him free air time.

Don't you know Trump loves the Hillary campaign took the gloves off first.

Plenty of skeletons in her closet that we know of. I'm sure more will come up. There's so much controversy surrounding her and the surface hasn't even been scratched.

I'm pretty sure his war against women will target just one.

And then there's Bubba Clinton.

But none of the words in that ad were Hillary's. The ad is just reminding folks how his own party feels about him using their own words.

As far as Donald being a "counter-puncher," well, we all know the bully is lying. Again. But so what? His supporters love lies too.

He's going revert to his 3rd grade bully tactics, name calling, regardless of who throws the first punch. It's who he is. It's what he does. His supporters LOVE that. The GOOD news is, there are not enough Americans that think that way to elect a president. The BAD news is..... that leaves us with Hillary.
