Climate Change Could Make Parts of Middle East Uninhabitable

Not only that but desal will become cheaper and cheaper as more plants get built. After all, this is only a new thing to "Ah-murrikinz".
Folks have been cleaning the salt out of ocean water for a long time in other parts of the world, and they've proven that they can do it responsibly.
Not to the scale it would take to irrigate California. We're talking Amazon river proportions.

Just some info on Great Lakes Water diversion ....

2016 will mark the first test case of the Great Lakes Compact. The city of Waukesha, WI, located a few miles west of Milwaukee, lies outside the Great Lakes basin and is requesting an exception to the ban on diversions of Great Lakes water under the Great Lakes Compact.

The proposed Waukesha diversion application is the first since the Great Lakes Compact was adopted in 2008. This application will serve as a precedent for other future diversion requests. With greater water scarcity and competition for energy and food needs, the public trust will be increasingly important to protect the Great Lakes against future diversions.
Diversions and Exports - FLOW

----

Diversions of water from the Great Lakes are currently negligible. However, an increasing number of droughts and climate change from global warming may result in more arid conditions in southern, central, and western US. Moreover, the US population is expected to swell by 50 percent – an additional 150 million people – in the next few decades, thus exacerbating water needs. As fresh water supplies are dwindling in the American West and South, and US states surrounding the Great Lakes experienced increasing pressure to divert water to dry parts of the country.

YEA! **** those scientists and their "studies!" It's not like they are experts or anything!

...and it's not like they had he answer before they did the study. Naaaaah. Would never happen. Those scientists just go where the data take them, they don't take take the data to where they want it to go. Liberals don't do stuff like that.

Do me a favor and work on your sarcasm.

It's AWESOME!

How do these scientists and their expensive studies explain an observed 11% CO2 induced greening of arid areas over the last three decades or so ?

While they don't talk about it much, they say it will not last,
because, uh, well all that new biomass uses up like 3 times the CO2, so the CO2 levels will fall!
Seriously, I think they say the growth will hit other limitations, so far that does not seem to be happening.

Why would it hit any limitations given we already know ideal growing conditions are at CO2 levels three times that of today ? Its almost as if they are afraid to broadcast this good news too loudly and need to put a pessimistic spin on it for fear of ex communication ...... from their funding

It is difficult to wave a shroud, and claim we will all die in a hot desert, when everything is turning green.

And it to the list of failed projections.

I lost count.

How many prediction have failed now? Have any come true?

The indoctrinated left sure eats it up though!

We can expect Water Wars throughout the Middle East.

Presently; two-thirds of the globe face water shortages.

In Canada, there is concerns or suspicions that the U.S. will demand Diversion of Great Lakes water to California.

Calm
That just a natural thing with a limited, cyclical supply, as population grows.

Climate change may render parts of the Middle East -- now home to over 500 million people -- too hot for humans, according to a new study....

When it was warmer in the past, especially in the holocene optimal;- early bronze age, the Sahara was much wetter with a vast lake bigger than the UK in it, the middle east was the fertile cresceant creating legends of the garden of Eden.

When it was colder than now the Old Kingdom in Egypt dissapeared and there was a long period of no central authority. The first tomb to have been discovered at the end of this period speaks of all the people having eaten all of their children. The Nile did not flood for many decades meaning that there was nothing else to eat.

Yeah, this fits into the same category as hurricane frequency. By AGW theory the upper troposphere should be warming fastest due to CO2 GHG effect, but a warming of the troposphere would create less imbalance in temperature between the surface and upper troposphere, and this grater balance would create fewer and weaker hurricanes as a result given that hurricane power is fed by the vertical temperature disparity in the atmosphere.

So, in theory, the lower number and weaker hurricanes COULD be used as evidence of the CO2 GHG... but fat chance the catastrophists would ever use it!

It should also be pointed out that climate change made large swaths of the Middle East uninhabitable a very long time ago...

It must have been all that time traveling of SUV's
